What a wonderful first season of My Solopreneur Life! I’ve had a blast but I’m just getting warmed up. In this episode I share my thanks and tease what will be the theme for season two: starting! We all need help there, for sure. You’re gonna love season two!
How I am now using AI and leverage it in my solopreneur practice. It’s time we all get used to the idea that AI is here to stay, and lean into how it can help us work more efficiently as well as how we can pass along the savings to our clients.
Being your natural self will become your secret weapon in the Age of AI. It will also allow you to further distinguish yourself in an ever-changing competitive marketplace, whether among other solopreneurs or small businesses attempting to capture your audience and clients. Today I’ll share how I’ve evolved my natural self, and how I (frankly) don’t give a d&!$m, Scarlet, what others think as I’m out to do good and inspire others to have real, authentic fun in their business being themselves.
Sales can be the biggest business challenge for solopreneurs. Although I've claimed I'm a reluctant marketer, I love sales. Never used to feel that way, but over the years, I've come to realize that sales is about relationships. If you care about helping others, sales should come easily for you. In this episode, I give you a quick and easy little tip that will make your sales process flow.
Being a solopreneur is a choice. A choice for freedom to create, do business the way you want versus how a "boss" or "employer" wants you to do it. I share a story about a pivotal conversation with my older brother that smacked down my insecurity and made me totally okay with my choice to be a solopreneur.
As I grew in my business, I learned how to productize my offerings. There are two distinct product types that I talk about and how you can use them in your solopreneur business to earn more wallet share and keep great clients longer.
I've always been a seeker of self-knowledge and self-improvement, wanting to understand why I was great at some things and not-so-great at others. In this episode, I talk about the many assessments I've done over the years but one in particular that really closed a gap in my struggles around marketing and that is Human Design. Listen to how I gained incredible insight (and relief) when I discovered my Projector orientation using Human Design.
Learn how to take a service-based business and create products that will distinguish your brand and remove any possibility of commoditization. By creating products out of your services, you can not only create higher quality engagements, but also more wallet share from your clients. Get paid to propose!
Sometimes it takes a few years to really dial in your brand, your model, your products, and how you position your solopreneur business. Here, I talk about how I evolved my business to reflect a model driven by a consistent repetition of problems and challenges facing my early clients.
Publishing and marketing books as part of your business offerings is a great marketing tool for your solopreneur business. In this episode, I share my book publishing journey and how I went about writing and publishing six books (all non-fiction so far) as part of creating additional revenue streams for my one-person business. Also, I love to write and wanted to see how far I could take my writing. (I'm still on that journey, too!)
