For our 97th episode we were joined by two separate guests to cover to subjects near and dear to our listeners. Our first guest was Bloodstain Lane who was making his second appearance on MTR. Our second guest of the evening was gaming personality and pro gamer Prod1gy X. Prod1gy X is well known in the gaming community for his contributions to eSports. Beside being a competitor and runner up on WCG Ultimate Gamer he is also a fixture on the competitive circuit bringing the pain in Gears Of War and also streaming a diverse selection of games on his channel. Prod1gy now works on promoting the GAEMS entertainment system which allows you to take your console with you for gaming on the go. Prodigy is terrific ambassador for eSports and has a work ethic that will take him far.

For our 96th episode, we had the pleasure of speaking with Wizard World President & CEO Gareb Shamus. I was very excited for this interview, not only because I am a longtime Wizard magazine reader, but also because Wizard has now evolved way beyond a niche genre and now covers movies, TV and even games. Gareb shared his intentions with the Wizard brand and the expansion of the Wizard World Conventions. (I apologize for the audio issues in advance. I tried to edit out as many I could.) On this episode of MTR I had the pleasure of interviewing Jeremy Corray who is the Creative Director for the upcoming Voltron Force animated series debuting next week on Nicktoons. My desire to do this interview stemmed from my inner Voltron fan boy but also from the desire to learn more about the creative process that went into bringing this childhood icon of to life for a new generation. Jeremy was a pleasure to interview and provided so much insight on the series that my excitement for its debut was magnified ten fold. In speaking with Jeremy we were privy to some of the inner workings of the shows creative process and the rationale that was applied to certain character depictions. Overall I know many fans enjoyed knowing that their childhood icon was going to be done justice. MTR would like to thank Jeremy for giving us wonderful opportunity to share this with our audience. I have always said that the inspiration to get into podcasting came from two different sources. The first being VGN who introduced me to the podcasting medium and the second the team from Opie & Anthony. In listening to O&A for so long I was introduced to many comedians that were never on my radar. Talented comics like Jim Norton, Patrice O’Neal and this weeks guest Robert Kelly. Bobby is an O&A regular but is a lot more than just a comic. Bob has done film, TV and even video game voice work (GTA). In hearing Bob’s many appearances on O&A I learned that he was a gamer and also an MMA fan. After a few weeks of harassing Bob on twitter I got the opportunity to interview him for our 94th show. Bob was as awesome with us as he is with O&A and that was refreshing. He toughed it out through some technical difficulties and gave us nearly two hours of kick ass comedy and uncensored views on things like MMA, video games and the nuances of stand up comedy. MTR thanks Bob for coming on and hanging with us.

This episode was quite possibly one of the best interviews I’ve had the pleasure of conducting. Honestly I love all my interviews but the passion exhibited in this interview made it standout all its own. Every week I broadcast MTR I usually have to share my displeasure with the current state of wrestling. A few weeks back I noticed one individual challenged wrestling fans to do something besides bitch. His passion for change gave way to The Wrestling Revolution which has the potential to change the game and make fans love pro wrestling once again.
Jeff Katz is the brains behind the Wrestling Revolution project and was also my guest for our 93rd episode. Jeff has a very impressive resume that crosses multiple genres. In speaking with Jeff I really felt challenged to make a difference not only as a fan but as someone who shares his views about the wrestling product on a broadcast platform.

For our 92nd episode I had the pleasure of interviewing one of the most interesting personalities I have met from the gaming journalism community. Gerard Williams aka Hip Hop Gamer is the personification of a larger than life persona being the driving force in his ascension to the top of the gaming journalism community. During his time on the show we discussed a broad range of topics from his work with Sony to his hardships in being taken seriously as a journalist. I was one hundred percent honest when I said that I was expecting a sideshow attraction before I met him at the DualShockers Game Day. Upon meeting Gerard I came to realize that his passion for gaming and his persona are tailor-made for this type of work.He is professional, eloquent and above all else hungry to be a player in the video game community. For those of you that shy away from this talented individual due to his hip hop persona need to look at his body of work and also speak to him to see that there is more to Gerard than just being Hip Hop Gamer.

For our 91st episode I had the pleasure of speaking to diverse group of competitive gamers and personalities. We discussed the negative stigma associated with eSports and what steps are being taken to bring this very profitable side of gaming to the forefront. Our guests were

Roberto Bayde aka R0bskii- Roberto besides being a competitive gamer and now coach is also the mind behind R0bskiiTV on YouTube which spotlights tech and gaming. Rob shared a lot of personal insight into his gaming life and also announced that R0bskii TV will be undergoing some changes that gamers will appreciate.
Alex Mendez aka Goldenboy- I had the privilege of meeting Alex during the DualShockers event and was impressed by his great color commentary skills during the gaming competition held at the event. Alex is also a competitive gamer and member of team Fear Pro
Stephen Consentino- Stephen is a jack of all trades. Besides being the founder of Unveil NYC he is also a competitive gamer and captain of Team Unveil. Stephen was able to provide great insight into being a pro gamer but also the business side that is involved. Unveil NYC sponsors gamers and has an incredibly diverse profile with music,clothing being part of their brand.

In speaking with all three of these guys I gained a greater understanding of eSports culture and the hard work that goes into competitive gaming. The incredible opportunities that present themselves to these guys is something many gamers would envy. Free gear, five and six figure payouts, sponsorships and of course recognition in gaming circles worldwide are definitely incentives to take your gaming to another level. Before speaking to these guys my understanding of eSports was limited and mostly negative due to some egocentric individuals I’ve come across that left a poor impression on me. I can proudly say I will support eSports as best as I can. I say this not only as a media outlet but as a gamer as well.
