Dixie Christensen has four children under the age of 5, including a very wiggly three year old boy. She has tried many different methods of family scripture study and Come, Follow Me study to teach her children about the Savior and has found some things that do and don't work.
Into today's podcast episode, Dixie delves deep into telling us her story of trying to find ways to teach her children. Some of the questions she has been figuring out include:
How do I teach my young children so they understand?
How do I get my wiggly children to pay attention during scripture study or Come, Follow Me study?
How can I make our gospel study more meaningful and less random?Dixie Christensen has some great insights and tips for those of us trying to find meaningful ways to teach our young children the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Using Picture Scriptures helped ALL her children focus during scripture study, help her children remember the scripture stories, and easily review what they had learned at the end of each week.

Using monthly themes has been a GAME CHANGER for her. Because of monthly themes:
She takes less than 5 minutes to prepare lessons
She knows what to focus on and is helping her children ACT on what they're learning
They spent a month talking about repentance... even her 2 year old has learned how to (sometimes) stop doing something wrong, change, and start doing something better
They are spending a month talking about how the gospel can protect us, including how taking care of our bodies is a form of protection.
Her personal scripture study is the most meaningful it has ever been in her life because she's looking for insight into ONE topic at a time.
