  • 00 Why Does Our Teaching Matter? Plus an Introduction

This is our Introduction Episode where we talk about why we believe so strongly that our teaching matters.  We give a little insight into why we care, how we got started, and what we're hoping to do with this podcast.

    Key Points:

Learning to teach our children the gospel well should be easy, but it's not as straightfoward as it seems.

Leslie has spent YEARS learning how to teach more effectively and she wants to share her experiences with others so they don't have to make all the same mistakes.

Linsey has young kids at home, and she feels Pres. Nelson's charge to "raise a sin-resistant" generation very strongly.  Even if it's not obtainable, she wants to put in her best effort and learn to teach in such a way that her kids are given the best chance at life.

Heavenly Father is on this journey with us.  He wants our children to come to know him.  As we learn to teach more effectively, he will bless our efforts.

  • 001 How Can I Help My Children Gain their own Testimony?

Today we explore the idea of what we can do as parents to help our children gain their own testimonies.  We talk about what is essential for your children to develop a testimony, how you can create experiences that encourage testimony building, and how you can find testimony building opportunities in day to day life.

    Key Takeaways

We can't give our children a testimony.  Only the Holy Ghost can do that, but we CAN create opportunities for the Holy Ghost to testify to our children about things.

We can create experiences during FHE or home church that allow the Holy Ghost to testify to our children.

Capitalizing on real life experiences is a great way to help kids internalize gospel principles.

Having a monthly theme is REALLY helpful when you try to take advantage of real life experiences.
