During the 1950s, locals started referring to the bridge as the "Bridge of Death" or the "Dog Suicide Bridge", as it was reported that dogs were leaping from the bridge into the ravine below. Spring-heeled Jack is an entity in English folklore of the Victorian era. The first claimed sighting of Spring-heeled Jack was in 1837. Reported all over the United Kingdom, Spring-heeled Jack was described by people who claimed to have seen him as having a terrifying and frightful appearance, with diabolical look, clawed hands, and eyes that "resembled red balls of fire". Beneath a black cloak, he wore a helmet and a tight-fitting white garment like an oilskin. Many stories also mention a "Devil-like" aspect. Others said he was tall and thin, with the appearance of a gentleman.

"Pachita" was born Bárbara Guerrero in the town of Parral in the Mexican state of Chihuahua in about the year 1900 Pachita was most known for her psychic surgery and mystic healing. As a little girl she began to hear voices and by the age of ten she was already demonstrating the ability to heal people. She would slip into trances and claim that her body was being taken over by an entity she called, “El Hermanito,” She would later identify "El Hermanito" as Cuauhtémoc, the last emperor of the Aztecs and nephew of Montezuma.

Père Fouettard: is a character who accompanies Saint Nicholas on his rounds during Saint Nicholas Day (6 December) dispensing lumps of coal and/or beatings to naughty children while St. Nicholas gives gifts to the well behaved.

Perchta: has two forms she may appear either as beautiful and white as snow like her name, or as elderly and haggard. Another form she appears as little old woman with a very wrinkled face, bright lively eyes, and a long hooked nose; her hair is disheveled, her garments tattered and torn.

The Somerton Man was an unidentified man whose body was found on 1 December 1948 on the beach at Somerton Park, a suburb of Adelaide, South Australia. The case has been considered, since the early stages of the police investigation, "one of Australia's most profound mysteries". Public interest in the case remains significant for several reasons: the death occurred at a time of heightened international tensions following the beginning of the Cold War, the apparent involvement of a secret code, the possible use of an undetectable poison, and the inability of authorities to identify the dead man.

The Bélmez Faces is an alleged paranormal phenomenon in a private house in Spain. The phenomenon started in 1971 when residents claimed images of faces appeared on the concrete floor of the house. Located at the Pereira family home,  the Bélmez faces have been responsible for bringing large numbers of sightseers to Bélmez, Various faces have supposedly appeared and disappeared at irregular intervals since 1971 and have been frequently photographed by the local newspapers and curious visitors. Many Bélmez residents believe that human hands did not make the faces. Some paranormal investigators believe it is a thoughtographic phenomenon, subconsciously produced by the deceased former owner of the house, María Gómez Cámara.
