The Power Is in the Air!
What if we told you electricity doesnât need wires anymore?
Yep. Finland just taught power how to fly â and Nikola Tesla is somewhere saying, âTold you so.â
Join us as we dive into the shocking (literally) story of wireless electricity, futuristic tech, and how your phone might soon charge itself like magic.
Itâs science. Itâs history. Itâs a little bit mind-blowing.
Plug in your earbuds⌠Ironically, this is the one episode you donât need to be plugged in for. đď¸âĄ
Some protectors donât wear armor. Some donât speak. And some⌠vanish when their work is done.
In the dark streets of 19th-century Turin, a priest was stalked, ambushed, even shot atâand lived to tell the tale.
Because something was watching.
A massive gray dog. No owner. No home. No hunger. Appearing only when danger was near⌠Disappearing when the threat was gone.
They called him Grigio.
Was he a loyal stray? A miracle in disguise? Or something sent from the shadows to guard a saint?
In this episode of Mysteries in the Dark, we follow the silent footsteps of the dog who saved St. John Boscoâagain and againâbefore vanishing without a trace.
Listen closely. Some mysteries donât bark.
They howl.
What if the biggest threat to your spiritual life isnât sin⌠but boredom?
In this episode, we launch the New Year with a resolution you definitely didnât see coming:
Donât Be a Zombie. Be Like Mary.
Father Jim Benz Homily
The Epiphany of the Lord: 1/4/26
We talk about zombies (the spiritual kind, not the ones chasing brains), a classic 1968 horror movie you probably didnât expect to hear about in church, and why walking through life on autopilot might be the quietest way to lose your joy. From cell phones and airplanes to air, blood, and the miracle that you even existâturns out weâre swimming in Godâs love⌠even when we forget to notice it.
Then we turn to Mary, the original master of paying attention. While everyone else is talking, Mary is reflecting, treasuring, and refusing to become spiritually numb. Her secret? Wonder, awareness, and a heart that knows how to pause.
Itâs thoughtful, a little funny, and surprisingly practicalâbecause if youâre not careful, you can be alive, busy, and still be a zombie.
And it all comes down to a New Year habit so simple it fits in a whisper: âThank you, Lord.â
At three years old, doctors told Peter Falkâs parents to choose:
lose the eye⌠or lose the child.
They chose life.
Hollywood would later choose against him.
In an industry obsessed with perfect faces, symmetry was currencyâand Peter Falk didnât fit the mold. Casting directors told him heâd never work. One even said, âFor the same price, I can get an actor with two eyes.â
They underestimated him.
This episode follows the unlikely path from rejected actor to television legendâhow a glass eye, a rumpled raincoat, and a quiet squint became the most dangerous tools in detective history.
Before Columbo changed television, Peter Falk learned a powerful lesson: real brilliance doesnât announce itself.
Sometimes the person everyone overlooks⌠is the one who sees everything.
đ§ Listen now to the story behind the detective who proved that imperfection can be unforgettable.
Welcome to Mysteries in the Darkâthe podcast where history doesnât speak, it whispers.
The Unseen Architect of Cosmic Death
In this episode, Luna and Omar highlight a forgotten name pulled from the margins of historyâone that nearly vanished beneath louder voices and greater egos. Itâs the true story of a nineteen-year-old student who, alone on a steamship in 1930, uncovered a cosmic truth that would change how we understand the universe⌠and then watched the world refuse to believe him.
Mocked, dismissed, and silenced by authority, he waited decades for the truth to catch up.
This is a story about brilliance without permission, truth without applause, and the quiet power of being right when no one is listening.
Dim the lights. Lean in. Some mysteries donât want to be solvedâuntil now.
Some revolutions donât arrive with applause. They arrive as a whisper. A pause. A quiet decision no one else is watching.
In 1939, American hospitals had rulesâclear ones. If you were bleeding, they helped you. If you were sick with pneumonia, they treated you. But if alcohol was your disease, the door stayed shut.
Until one small woman chose to open it.
At a hospital in Akron, Ohio, a soft-spoken nun working the admissions desk made a choice that would change history. Sister Ignatia Gavin didnât have power, status, or permissionâbut she had conviction. When a doctor asked her to bend the rules for a suffering alcoholic, she didnât argue. She didnât hesitate.
She said yes.
That single yes created the first hospital-based treatment for alcoholism, helped launch Alcoholics Anonymous into the world, and gave thousands of broken lives a second chance. From a hidden flower room to a ward that still operates today, her quiet defiance reshaped how the world understands addiction.
This podcast explores the woman behind the doorâthe nun who treated addiction as illness, dignity as medicine, and compassion as revolutionary.
Because sometimes the most powerful thing you can do⌠is move closer when everyone else turns away.
In 1860, the Arizona frontier tried to erase her from history. After a sudden, brutal attack, Larcena Page was stabbed, beaten, and thrown into a canyonâleft for dead in the cold, unforgiving wilderness. But death didnât get the final word.
With shattered bones, open wounds, and no hope of rescue, she did the unthinkable. Unable to stand, Larcena began to crawlâinch by inchâacross fifteen miles of desert and mountain terrain, through freezing nights, searing pain, and total darkness. No map. No certainty. Just raw determination and the refusal to stop moving.
This is not a legend. This is not a myth. Itâs a true survival story of grit, endurance, and the quiet power of the human willâone that will stay with you long after the episode ends.

You can read more about this treatment option by going to the drop down tab labeled Prolotherapy.
Dr. Adams also has a special interest in helping people deal with the many forms of emotional and chemical imbalances, depression and anxiety that plague so many people today.
