There's something about a staircase in the woods that is just eerie. It's as if they are inviting you to come up and explore, but at the same time warning you to stay away. Maybe it's the stories you've heard about people getting lost in the woods and never being found, or maybe it's the feeling of being alone and vulnerable that comes with being in nature. Whatever the reason, staircases in the woods are definitely creepy.

If you're brave enough to venture into the woods alone, be sure to take some precautions. Let someone know where you're going and when you'll be back, and bring a map and compass (or GPS) with you. Search and rescue teams have been called out for people who have gotten lost while exploring these mysterious staircases, so it's better to be safe than sorry.
