Manessa has always had a strong background of science since her earlier days while participating in science fairs and experimenting different practices on her own. Her family and cultural background is a huge part of why she is highly disciplined as a student and just a person in general. Manessa, who graduated from Rutgers this past May, 2017, explains what she had to deal with being a woman of color in a field that is predominantly filled with white men.
