This presentation is delivered through the medium of Welsh.

Jen Davies is a primary phase teacher and middle leader in the Welsh medium sector of Bridgend. She has worked at her substantive post at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Calon y Cymoedd since 2008 under three headteachers and has supported the school as part of the senior leadership team since 2015. Following a yearlong secondment teaching at a Primary school in Melbourne, Australia, Jen, has worked as a seconded Deputy Headteacher at Tynyrheol Primary where she earned valuable experience in curriculum design and has developed a passion for learning about and sharing successful pedagogy and an understanding of the science of learning. Her curriculum design work at Tynyrheol has supported other schools in their mission to provide the best opportunities for their learners and support for their practitioners. She has recently been appointed Deputy Headteacher at Llanfair Primary in the Vale of Glamorgan where she looks forward to continuing her work in a permanent senior leader’s role.

Cyflwynir y cyflwyniad hwn trwy gyfrwng y Gymraeg.

Mae Jen Davies yn athrawes cyfnod cynradd ac yn arweinydd canol yn sector cyfrwng Cymraeg Pen-y-bont ar Ogwr. Mae wedi gweithio yn ei swydd sylweddol yn Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Calon y Cymoedd ers 2008 o dan dri phennaeth ac wedi cefnogi'r ysgol fel rhan o'r tîm arwain hŷn ers 2015. Yn dilyn secondiad blynyddol yn dysgu mewn ysgol gynradd yn Melbourne, Awstralia, mae Jen, wedi gweithio fel Dirprwy Bennaeth ar secondiad yn Ysgol Gynradd Tynyrheol lle enillodd brofiad gwerthfawr wrth ddylunio'r cwricwlwm ac mae wedi datblygu angerdd am ddysgu am addysgeg lwyddiannus a rhannu addysgeg lwyddiannus a dealltwriaeth o'r wyddoniaeth o ddysgu. Mae ei gwaith dylunio cwricwlwm yn Tynyrheol wedi cefnogi ysgolion eraill yn eu cenhadaeth I ddarparu'r cyfleoedd gorau i'w dysgwyr a chefnogaeth i'w hymarferwyr. Yn ddiweddar mae wedi ei phenodi'n Ddirprwy Brifathro Ysgol Gynradd Llanfair ym Mro Morgannwg lle mae'n edrych ymlaen at barhau â'i gwaith mewn rôl uwch arweinydd parhaol.

Bryony Evett Hackfort

Director of Learning, Teaching, Technology and Skills for Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion

Bryony Evett Hackfort is the Director of Learning, Teaching, Technology and Skills for Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion in South West Wales. Bryony is extremely proud of the Further Education (FE) sector in Wales and feels passionately about the need to amplify its voice. Bryony started her FE journey in 2006 within the Performing Arts department and made the move into the leadership of teaching and learning in 2018. Since that time, Bryony has made the most of every opportunity to learn about the FE community and establish links, networks and projects driven to support the FE sector. Bryony aspires to be a future leader for FE and be part of helping to shape its direction.

As a leader, Bryony wants to enable and support those around her to recognise their own strength, value, potential and voice within their organisation and externally. Bryony has demonstrated a commitment to this approach through the creation and implementation of the Action Research programme and the development of Coleg Sir Gar and Coleg Ceredigion’s ‘Culture of Curiosity’. Action Research and the wider FE speaks movement, is about showing staff that they are able to shape and influence not only their organisation but the sector as whole in order to give our learners the best possible experience and opportunity to reach their potential. This programme has achieved national recognition through the Princess Royal Training Award 2022 and has already had a significant impact on the confidence and value that many of our academic staff are now starting to place on their own work and capabilities.

Cyfarwyddwr Dysgu, Addysgu, Technoleg a Sgiliau i Goleg Sir Gâr a Choleg Ceredigion

Bryony Evett Hackfort yw Cyfarwyddwr Dysgu, Addysgu, Technoleg a Sgiliau Coleg Sir Gâr a Choleg Ceredigion yn Ne-orllewin Cymru. Mae Bryony yn hynod falch o'r sector Addysg Bellach (AB) yng Nghymru ac yn teimlo'n angerddol am yr angen i chwyddo ei lais. Dechreuodd Bryony ei thaith AB yn 2006 o fewn yr adran Celfyddydau Perfformio a gwnaeth y symudiad i arweinyddiaeth addysgu a dysgu yn 2018. Ers hynny, mae Bryony wedi gwneud y gorau o bob cyfle i ddysgu am y gymuned AB a sefydlu cysylltiadau, rhwydweithiau a phrosiectau sy'n cael eu gyrru i gefnogi'r sector AB. Mae Bryony yn dyheu am fod yn arweinydd addysg bellach yn y dyfodol a bod yn rhan o helpu i lywio ei gyfeiriad.

Fel arweinydd, mae Bryony eisiau galluogi a chefnogi'r rhai o'i chwmpas i gydnabod eu cryfder, eu gwerth, eu potensial a'u llais eu hunain o fewn eu sefydliad ac yn allanol. Mae Bryony wedi dangos ymrwymiad i'r dull hwn drwy greu a gweithredu'r rhaglen Ymchwil Weithredu a datblygu 'Diwylliant Chwilfrydedd' Coleg Sir Gâr a Choleg Ceredigion. Mae Action Research a'r AB ehangach, yn ymwneud â dangos i staff eu bod yn gallu siapio a dylanwadu nid yn unig ar eu sefydliad ond y sector yn ei gyfanrwydd er mwyn rhoi'r profiad a'r cyfle gorau posibl i'n dysgwyr gyrraedd eu potensial. Mae'r rhaglen hon wedi sicrhau cydnabyddiaeth genedlaethol drwy Wobr Hyfforddiant y Dywysoges Frenhinol 2022 ac mae eisoes wedi cael effaith sylweddol ar yr hyder a'r gwerth y mae llawer o'n staff academaidd bellach yn dechrau ei roi ar eu gwaith a'u galluoedd eu hunain.

ALN Unlocked: Sam Garner

The National Academy for Educational Leadership Wales webinar series ALN Unlocked is a professional learning programme exploring Additional Learning Needs in Wales and its educational context. Each webinar is guided by a notable guest speaker.

This episode features Samantha Garner. Sam is a renowned Mental Health and Inclusion Consultant. She has been a SENCo and has a wealth of experience and qualifications around mental health and neurodiversity. Lauded for her humour and 'telling it like it is' approach for mental health. Sam has had her book Mental Health in Education published by Routledge, and regularly writes for several publications with more books in the pipeline for publication.

Mae hi wedi bod yn Gydlynydd SENCo ac mae gyfoeth o ennill a gyflawnir yn ymwneud ag iechyd meddwl a niwroamrywiaeth. Canmol am ei hiwmor a'i hagwedd 'dweud fel y mae' ar gyfer iechyd meddwl. Mae Sam wedi cael ei llyfr Iechyd Meddwl mewn Addysg wedi’i gyhoeddi gan Routledge, ac mae’n ysgrifennu’n rheolaidd ar gyfer nifer o gyhoeddiadau gyda mwy o lyfrau ar y gweill i’w cyhoeddi.

Geraldine Foley

Headteacher, Marlborough Primary School

Geraldine Foley started her teaching career in Liverpool in 1992. She moved to Cardiff in 1999 and took up anew Deputy Headteacher post. Geraldine started her first headship in 2004 and her second headship at Marlborough Primary School in 2011.

Marlborough is a vibrant, inclusive school in the heart of Penylan community. There are 530 pupils on roll, including Y Galon, our 30 place Specialist Resource provision for pupils with Severe and Complex needs. Geraldine is Chair of the NPQH Assessment Centre for the Central South Consortium (CSC) and is part of a pilot cohort of System Leaders with CSC.

Geraldine is a flagbearer for well-being. She is fiercely protective in ensuring that she meets her own well-being needs and is equally proactive in developing a school culture where the importance of well-being and relationships is at the core.

Dechreuodd Geraldine Foley ei gyrfa ddysgu yn Lerpwl ym 1992. Symudodd i Gaerdydd ym 1999 a dechreuodd swydd Dirprwy Bennaeth newydd. Dechreuodd Geraldine ei phrifathrawiaeth gyntaf yn 2004 a’i hail brifathrawiaeth yn Ysgol Gynradd Marlborough yn 2011.

Mae Marlborough yn ysgol fywiog, gynhwysol yng nghanol cymuned Pen-y-lan. Mae 530 o ddisgyblion ar y gofrestr, gan gynnwys Y Galon, ein darpariaeth Adnoddau Arbenigol 30 lle ar gyfer disgyblion ag anghenion Difrifol a Chymhleth. Geraldine yw Cadeirydd Canolfan Asesu CPCP ar gyfer Consortiwm Canolbarth y De(CCD) ac mae'n rhan o garfan beilot o Arweinwyr System gyda CCD.

Mae Geraldine yn gludwr fflagiau dros les. Mae hi’n hynod amddiffynnol wrth sicrhau ei bod yn bodloni ei hanghenion lles ei hun ac mae'r un mor rhagweithiol wrth ddatblygu diwylliant ysgol lle mae pwysigrwydd lles a pherthnasoedd yn greiddiol.

Cath Hicks

Head of Learner Services and Resources

Cath Hicks joined Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales (then WEA South Wales) as a HR specialist in 2008, following previous HR roles in both the private and not for profit sectors. Since this time her role within the organisation has developed continuously, and she is currently Head of Learner Services and Resources.

As a member of the organisation’s Senior Management team, Cath’s areas of responsibility include Learner Services, Marketing, Health Safety and Environment, Welsh and Bilingualism, and HR. Reporting to the Chief Executive, Cath provides strategic leadership, management, and development of the HR strategy and the learner services strategy in support of the Strategic Plan and financial objectives. Cath also leads the promotion and development of an active Welsh language offer in all the organisation’s activities at a strategic level, ensuring that the bilingual nature of the organisation is projected effectively throughout Wales.

Ymunodd Cath Hicks ag Addysg Oedolion Cymru | Adult Learning Wales (WEA De Cymru bryd hynny) fel arbenigwr AD yn 2008, yn dilyn rolau AD blaenorol yn y sector preifat a’r sector dielw. Ers hynny mae ei rôl ofewn y sefydliad wedi datblygu’n barhaus, ac ar hyn o bryd mae'n Bennaeth Gwasanaethau ac Adnoddau Dysgwyr.

Fel aelod o Uwch Dîm Rheoli’r sefydliad, mae meysydd cyfrifoldeb Cath yn cynnwys Gwasanaethau Dysgwyr, Marchnata, Iechyd, Diogelwch a’r Amgylchedd, Cymraeg a Dwyieithrwydd, ac AD. Gan adrodd i'r Prif Weithredwr, mae Cath yn darparu arweinyddiaeth strategol, rheolaeth, a datblygiad y strategaeth AD a'r strategaeth gwasanaethau dysgwyr i gefnogi'r Cynllun Strategol a'r amcanion ariannol. Mae Cath hefyd yn arwain y gwaith o hyrwyddo a datblygu arlwy Cymraeg gweithgar yn holl weithgareddau’r sefydliad ar lefel strategol, gan sicrhau bod natur ddwyieithog y sefydliad yn cael ei ragweld yn effeithiol ledled Cymru.

This episode features Professor Ken Muir. Professor Ken Muir retired in March 2021 from his post as Chief Executive and Registrar of the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
