‘Port Moody is headed in the wrong direction’ Lurbiecki launches mayoral campaign with focus on jobs, not just towers

PORT MOODY – Mayoral hopeful Coun. Haven Lurbiecki says she will steer Port Moody in a new direction if elected this fall, campaigning on a platform of transparency, accountability, and sustainable growth.

Lurbiecki formally entered the mayoral race in February, marking the first time a member of the newly formed Port Moody Voice has sought the city's highest office. She helped launch the party — Port Moody’s first registered local political party — last September.

“The reason that we decided to launch the party is this feeling that we're going in the wrong direction,” Lurbiecki said.

PORT MOODY – Port Moody – As Port Moody faces intensifying provincial housing mandates and debates over its community identity, Coun. Diana Dilworth has confirmed she will seek re-election this October.

While her name will be on the ballot, Dilworth said her immediate priority remains her current seat. “I’m not focused on campaigning at this time. I’m focused on doing the job I was elected to do,” she said, noting several strategic priorities require completion before the official campaign period begins.
