Wow! This might be the most heart wrenching episode of the season!!  Its all about court for Deacon and Rayna V. Maddie.  The wheels of justice are slow everywhere but Nashville as Maddie’s emancipation hearing begins.   Things look great until Maddie pulls out plan B (not that plan B).  Plan B involves using Deacons violent history obtained in the most deceitful way. ( I thought the “A” stood for anonymous.)

One thing leads to another and Deacon gets suckered into a fight with Frankie and he gets arrested.  If only he stayed at home.  Naturally case lost.

In other news, Avery chooses Layla over Juliette.  Scarlett and Gunnar’s happiness is short lived. Luke tries to help Will with poor results.

Baby Come Home is discussed on this weeks episode. Rayna and Deacon need Teddy’s help.  Juliette schemes to get Avery.  Layla is upset that Glenn doesn’t prioritize her career.  Luke takes to extreme measures to get Will radio air time.  Scarlett and Gunnar get stuck in an elevator. Rayna confronts Cash.  Deacon helps Daphne learn a song. Teddy comes clean to Maddie. Rayna convinces Maddie to think things through.  Scarlett and Gunnar hook up.  Avery and Layla hook up.  Juliette and baby Cadence spend an evening together but its not Avery.  Maddie is there for Daphne, but decides she is not coming home after all. Heartbreak all over the place.

When There is a Fire in Your Heart is the name of the episode and we are fired up to discuss what might be the best all round episode of the season.  This weeks bullet points include; Autumn turns into this weeks antagonist. Layla gets on Luke’s tour on her own. Juliette makes up with Glenn.  Maddie sneaks out to play bars.  Daphne gets good at blackmail.  Deacon learns he has a temper.  Rayna wants to tour.  Layla needs a new band leader for her tour.

“What I cannot change”  is discussed.  Juliette is back and out of the Mental hospital.  She decides she needs more Cadence time. Avery says no. Juliette decides to take a role in a new Spielberg film, then decides against it.  Sparks start to fly again.  Javery anyone?   Layla meets Autumn Chase and is in line to open for her except she introduces The Exes to Autumn and loses her spot. Luke and Colt resolve their issues.  Frankie loses 15 years of sobriety and its Deacon’s fault.  Rayna takes up a cause.

If I could do It All Again

Deacon and Frankie do not see eye to eye when it comes to Vita Martin. Scarlett and Gunnar agree on their first single, but Scarlett is concerned when the song chosen is pretty much all her. Avery meets a single playground Mom and scores a date.  True to Avery’s character, he mucks it up when he spends the entire date talking about Juliette.  Layla will be happy. Will gets an offer to record with a gay label.  Maddie and Cash continue to bond and both Daphne and Colt get kicked to the curb.  Vita is a thief after all with a backstory.  Rayna pulls her offer as the risk outweighs the reward.  Riff gets things together after a rocky start and performs at the Beverly.  Frankie, while right about Vita, has trouble dealing with being under-appreciated by Deacon and the Nashville Music scene. He turns to alcohol.  Rayna goes to see Vita and comes across a crime scene.

We discuss ” How does it Feel To Be Free”.  We did not enjoy this episode (although this podcast is exceptional).  We get introduced to Vita, an ex-felon that can sing.  Avery and Layla pair up for business.  Luke is lonely but meets an old friend and invites him to go on tour.  Maddie gives Colt a piece of her mind after a collaboration with Cash.  Gunnar breaks up with Erin.  Scarlet is there for support.  Will has a run-in with a big Redneck that can throw a bottle and still be let back into the same club.  Avery finally can come clean about Juliette.  PLEASE HAYDEN–SAVE THIS SHOW!!

We are back with another episode. It’s been so long!!  Anyway, we discuss what this episode is all about; Rayna & Deacon,  Deacon & Rayna.  Will these folks ever find happiness together?  Well, dare I say for an episode-YES.  However, first you have to get through moody daughters, hating sisters, self doubt and paparazzi.  We get all that!  

In a lessor note, we also find out that Will has been labeled by Wade Cole as being difficult to sleep work with.  Thanks for your 10 second screen time, Will.  

Gunnar and Scarlett are still in the friend zone.  Avery is forced to lie for Juliette who is still in rehab.  This causes Avery to have a full blown panic attack.

Layla comes back to attend the Wedding and promptly learns from Colt Wheeler the truth about Jeff Fordham’s death.  Me thinks we will see a very vindictive Layla from now on.

Anyway, problems aside, Deacon and Rayna exchange vows, kiss ,dance, and make love. ooooh Dreamy!!

Join us as we talk about the mid-season finale entitled ‘We’ve got nothing but love to prove.’  Scarlet and Gunnar bring the tour to a close.  Deacon is there to pick up Scarlet. Where is Dr. Caleb?  Meanwhile Markus is missing for sound check and when he gets found by Rayna, he has doubts about the whole country music thing. Meanwhile, Avery finds out Juliette has been in rehab and he is furious with Emily for keeping a secret.  Will has a writing session with Wade Cole and Wade reveals himself to Will.  Luke finds out  he owes 40 million in back taxes.  Unfortunately his quiet plan to sell off assets doesn’t work and investors pull their funds from the Luke Wheeler brand.  Luke loses his brand, his girlfriend (Gabrielle), and his son.  Markus has a successful concert, however, he decides to cancel the tour and get back with his band-Boulevard. This leaves Highway 65 in ruins. At he Beverly, the Grand Opening is a success , except for Dr Caleb who learns that Scarlet is breaking up with him.  Avery has a change of heart and agrees to let Juliette bond with the baby.  Frankie’s daughter Cash enters the picture and hits off a friendship with Maddie.  Deacon and Rayna have a fight but it is quickly resolved when Deacon proposes to Rayna on their favorite bridge.
