As the title suggests, the New York Islanders failed to hold their 3-0 lead in game two, losing any momentum from game one, and dropped 0-2 in their series with the Carolina Hurricanes. The New York Islanders effectively ended their 2023-24 season after losing 7 of 8 over the last two weeks, with the final nail in the coffin being a 4-0 loss to the New Jersey Devils. The Islanders' embarrassment knew no bounds, and now we're left trying to figure out where this team goes from here. They need to find a new identity before next season, which may also mean the departure of even more long-time Islanders.
