Pelosi rejected the Republicans that Kevin McCarthy had chosen for the select committee regarding the January 6th capitol riots. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy is now saying that if that decision is not reversed he will create his own committee to investigate what happened. In Caldwell, Irrigation will be shut off early this year due to the extreme heat and drought. Meridian City Council President Treg Bernt joined Nate to discuss why the city council unanimously denied permits for a new night club. Idaho has a budget surplus of $900 Million, this brought up the topic of tax breaks. Well, the mandates and protests surrounding the coronavirus pandemic aren't just here in the United States. In France, people are protesting the President's mandates for vaccine passports or a negative COVID test before entering a public place. In the UK, they are seeing 40% of hospitalizations from are breakthrough cases of COVID-19 in those who have been vaccinated. Locally, today there was a protest held outside of St. Luke's to protest the vaccine mandate for employees in the health system. Nate's guests included Jermiah Bates on how the stock market has been affected by the delta variant, and State Representative Tammy Nichols was at the St. Luke's protest and gave us insight to what was going on.
