David Littleproud has announced he is resigning as leader of the National Party.
The member for Maranoa has held the position since 2022, and will stay on as member for his seat.
He says he has notified the National Party whip and asked her to convene a party room meeting before the end of the week, so he can make his resignation official.
Mr Littleproud says he is "buggered", and that it's time for someone else to take over the party's leadership.
