The Washington Nationals made Miami Marlins' starter Brad Hand throw 41 pitches in a three-run fifth as they rallied to take a 3-2 lead and Bryce Harper hit a two-run blast in the seventh, making it 5-2 Nats with his 41st home run of the 2015 campaign.

Max Scherzer and Jose Fernandez went head to head at the start, but the Washington Nationals and Miami Marlins were tied at 4-4 after nine before Jose Lobaton hit a sac fly to left-center to bring in the winning run. 5-4 Nats over the Fish in the nation's capital.

The Washington Nationals can't afford losses at this point, but they dropped their third game against the Miami Marlins in the last four matchups with their NL East rivals. The Fish took the series opener in D.C., 6-4, after taking two of three in Miami last week. Tanner Roark struggled again in his second straight outing against the Marlins.

Washington Nationals' right-hander Stephen Strasburg matched his career high in strikeouts with 14 Ks total tonight and Bryce Harper homered twice, leaving him one shy of 40 as the Nats beat the Philadelphia Phillies, 4-0, for their second straight win in Citizens Bank Park. Miami Marlins' right-hander Jose Fernandez improved to (16-0) in his first 25 career starts in Marlins Park in a 2-0 win over the Washington Nationals, who dropped their fifth straight overall. Tanner Roark put together a solid outing, but the Nationals' offense came up empty again... The Marlins won their fourth in a row.

Stephen Strasburg struck out 13 in a dominant performance, but gave up a game-tying home run in the eighth and Drew Storen came on and served up a go-ahead home run by Yoenis Cespedes as the New York Mets rallied again and swept the Nats with a 5-3 win in Nationals Park.

The Washington Nationals took a 7-1 lead with a four-run sixth but gave it all back in a disaster of a seventh inning in which the New York Mets rallied for a six-run inning against the Nats' bullpen, tying it up at 7-7 before a pinch hit HR by Kirk Nieuwenhuis in the eighth put them ahead for good, 8-7. Complete, utter, failure.
