What exactly does it mean to be a multiplier of good? What does it take to become one as an individual? As an organization?
Today, Troy and Jeremy have recruited a very special guest, Dr. Kent Bradley, to help answer these crucial questions. Currently the Chief Health and Nutrition Officer for Herbalife, Dr. Bradley is a former President of Safeway Health as well as a former Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer for Safeway. He has served on numerous boards, and as a strategic advisor to multiple health technology companies with a special focus on consumer engagement. Dr. Bradley is also a retired Army colonel and a graduate of the United States Military Academy who holds a master’s degree in public health from the University of Minnesota, an executive MBA from the University of Denver and a medical degree from the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland.
Together, our trio discusses the concept of being a "multiplier" and the importance of serving others while sharing invaluable insights on leadership, purpose-driven companies, supporting veterans, and how persistence, collaboration, and self-efficacy play crucial roles in achieving success and making a positive impact.
Episode Highlights:
Quotes:
"It humbles us to realize that it's only by the wonderful experiences that have been cultivated by others to get us to where we are today."
"From a wellbeing perspective, we've got the body, the mind, and then we've got this thing called the spirit."
"A mentor is somebody who cares deeply about you and the journey that you are on, not that they have been on. So they take what they've learned, their experiences, but they're really focused on your journey and have your best interests in mind."
"We're not stuck in clay, but we are really the molders of that clay to the future, which we want to see."
"From a career growth standpoint, who do I want to be? I want to be a kind person. I want to be a loving person. I want to be someone that people can rely on."
"It requires us to be willing to not just say things. It's more than just saying. It is about action."
"Change is easier when you're motivated.”
"We have so much capability. We tend to think that we cannot transform ourselves. We don't appreciate all the things we already have within us."
"Continue to show your gratitude to your family, your friends, and the U.S. Military as often as you can. Be positive, have optimism. There's good in every single day."

If your definition of women’s health begins and ends with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, today's episode is here to broaden your horizons.
Troy and Jeremy are fresh off their trip to the 2023 HLTH Conference in Las Vegas where women’s health was a popular topic. This month, they invited Emily Brainerd, National Practice Leader for Physical and Emotional Wellbeing Consulting at Gallagher, to explore the ever-changing world of workplace wellbeing and women's health.
Together, they uncover how organizations are stepping up to support women's physical and emotional health, and they discuss topics like genetic testing, personalized health and wellbeing resources, and why a focus on diverse women’s and LGBTQ+ resources is essential.
Episode highlights:
Quotes:
“I think historically we always talked about Breast Cancer Awareness month and that was women’s health. I think we’re absolutely still focused on cancer screenings and preventative care in that capacity, but women’s health is just so much more than that and we’re finally starting to take note of it and see employers take note of it.”
“Probably one of the best opportunities that we've seen is saying, ‘Let's sit down and listen more about what the women in the workplace want.’”
“Should we be providing specific programming resources in our wellbeing programs, in our healthcare, in our benefits to women? Should we be thinking about it differently? I think the answer that we're starting to see is a resounding ‘Yes’.”
“Now we're looking at women's health, and we're really giving the attention to women's health that we should be.”
“When we think about preventive care, we think about Total Health, it's driving those resources at the right time for the people that we work with.”
“We definitely love working with Navigate and making a central hub for all of those resources to be in place where the end user just has to be told to go to one location, one website, one app, and have the information at their fingertips when they need it.”
“I think as leaders we need to recognize that women might just need a little bit more help standing up for themselves and feeling confident in promoting themselves.”
“Let's talk to the women in the workplace. Let's create a communication channel for them to share their opinions, share their struggles, share their needs, their interests, and then take that into consideration and figure out what's going to be best for your culture.”

Episode highlights:
Quotes:
"So we teed that up for them and then followed that up with additional resources, a recording of the webinar, additional handouts and information to help people through that process."
"I'm more than happy to help in those situations. And if I don't know the answer, I'm resourceful. I can pass it off to who I know can answer those things.”
"We know tried and true lessons from wellbeing that if you have an active and engaged leadership, that's promoting not only your wellbeing program but your benefits in general."
"It allows me to understand if someone wants data or an empathetic response. It helps me tailor my questions for them.”
"So when we have that information, we've already kind of worked through and processed it. So we have to think, when they get that information, it's for the first time."
"One of the most compelling aspects of Total Health and what we're doing within the wellbeing space is being able to hyper-personalize it for the individual."
"Navigate has truly turned our platform into a hub on top of your wellbeing program."
"Our goal is to be the epicenter of employee engagement, benefit activation, and overall wellbeing.”
"It's all about caring for the whole person, not just the employee."
