The NBA has moved away from using the term "owner" of a team to "governor" of a team. The league has been doing this for a while but now individual teams are following suit by referring no longer to the "owner" of a team as "owner" but "governor" because of the insensitivity the term brings towards a major of the league's players who are African American.
