Jesus is powerful and in control of everything in our lives, including our spiritual battles, and the demons that try to mess with us know Jesus and listen to his commands. If we are being completely honest the demons might listen to Jesus better than we do because they always recognize and always submit to His authority.  

How much more can we imitate Jesus by waiting on the Spirit’s infilling and empowerment? Jesus’ life invites us to hope in and depend on the Holy Spirit for God’s purposes even in what seems like the most mundane of moments.

Often times in church circles, you’ll hear that the most powerful words are the words in red. If you have that philosophy, then the way this book starts seems insignificant. But what the writer, John Mark, is telling his audience, is there is some significance to who else in history has foretold about the main character of his narrative. His audience is interested in Jesus, but John Mark understands that Jesus requires validation.

We are diving into the book of Mark as we prayer walk our neighborhoods. While we believe God is omnipresent and everywhere all around us, we also believe that we have been equipped with and given a great Light to live out all around us.

It has been so amazing learning from everyone as they dig into the names and attributes of God. Today I will focus on the fact that Jesus was called a “friend of sinners”.
