In this episode, we continue our conversation with Dr. Adam Hughes about God's Word. If you have not listened to Episode #23, we recommend you check it out as well.
We talked about how to make God's Word a part of our everyday routine despite the challenges and obstacles that try to keep us from learning more about God.
We also talked about five different ways to engage with God's Word: reading, meditating, memorizing, obeying, and teaching.
If you are not currently in God's Word, our advice is simple - JUST START. Start with a simple, achievable goal and build from there.
We recommend one of the following books of the Bible to start with. Let the Holy Spirit guide you:
- Mark - the shortest retelling of the Gospel
- I John - a letter written specifically to new believers
- John - another Gospel account that focuses on Jesus's divinity and His "I AM" statements
- Genesis - the first book in the book provides a foundation many theological principles (the characteristics of God, the origin of man, the fall of man, etc)
