The authors discuss the prevalence, causes, and characteristics of nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). Drs. Kopec and Burns also review basic diagnosis and treatment guidelines of NAFLD as well as nutrition implications.
