Mr. Majette is a historian and founder of the African-American Cultural Heritage Collection (AACHC) and owner of the original collection of Madam C.J. Walker artifacts.
The over-fictionalization done in this movie constitutes an opposition to the truth and was intentional. Kasi Lemmon, the director utilized the same approach when directing “Harriett” and we were equally enraged.
Why embellish the truth to create a story arc when the original story was just as fascinating and inspiring?
