The seventh plague receives more verses of description than any of the others. It seems to strike terror into Pharaoh's heart to see what the Lord can do in the heavens and He brings hail, fire, and lightning upon Egypt. Any man or beast caught out in this storm perishes, along with the first part of Egypt's crops and the trees of the field. But what's the lesson for us today? - Pastor Kevin

We are halfway through the plagues of the Exodus. God continues to increase the intensity of the plagues as He reveals Himself to Israel, the Egyptians, and even the hard-hearted Pharaoh. It's time for the next set of 3 plagues. Pharaoh continues to harden his heart and the price for that is going to continue to increase. Pharaoh gets no warning before the arrival of this, the third plague. He has broken his vow to let the people go, and he will be punished for his rebellion. The water has been struck; now the land would be struck. Moreover, Pharaoh's magicians are unable to duplicate this plague. This week principle: only the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ, the message of the cross, brings life. Any other message of salvation is a counterfeit. - Pastor Kevin

God is finished yet. He is systematically showing His almighty power to Pharaoh and the Egyptians. This week, the LORD, Jehovah, shows his power over the creatures of nature and the 'frog-god' of Egypt, Heqet, that the Egyptians (and Israelites) might know that there is no God but the LORD. - Pastor Kevin

In this message, God begins His judgment upon Egypt by bringing the first 'plague' against them, turning the Nile to blood. In one stroke, God shows His power over the god of the Nile, the forces of nature, and the livelihood of all Egypt. But Pharaoh still will not budge. - Pastor Kevin

Moses and Aaron present themselves before Pharaoh again. This time, they bring the witness of a miracle. When Aaron casts his rod on the floor, it becomes a serpent. But, Pharaoh's magicians copy the miracle with one important exception: Aaron's rod swallows all the other rods. Pharaoh still won't listen (just like God had warned ahead of time) but things are about to get very... exciting... in Egypt. - Pastor Kevin

After Pharaoh reject God's message, God simply asks Moses for obedience and faithfulness in presenting the same message to Pharaoh again. Humanly speaking, it seems hopeless; but with God's power and the power of His words, God's plan moves ahead. Moses can't see it yet, but God is working and will continue to work until His plan of redemption is perfectly carried out, just as He had planned from the very beginning. God is good! - Pastor Kevin
