God is in control. Failure to recognize this in the life of a believer, and live it out in our everyday plans and conduct, is arrogance. We are setting ourselves up for disappointment and failure if we depend on our own wisdom to aim our lives. Then, beyond that, when we know to do good, but fail to act, it is sin. These are called sin of omission and they can be every bit as destructive as overt acts of evil. - Pastor Kevin

Once again, James pulls no punches in today's passage of Scripture. Christians are called to remain faithful and true to the God that has delivered them. And God's grace is central, given to those that submit themselves and humble themselves. We are then empowered to resist the devil and walk moment by moment in the grace of Christ. - Pastor Kevin

True wisdom from God can be recognized by its beautiful outworking in the lives of believers. But there is a counterfeit from the enemy of our souls that James makes us aware of and encourages us to guard against. - Pastor Kevin

Under the authority of Jesus Christ, the tongue can be a powerful tool for good. Under own our strength, the tongue can be a powerful tool for destruction. We must get our tongues under the control of the Holy Spirit. - Pastor Kevin

Faith, works, and justification. This week, we tackle one of the most controversial passages in all the New Testament. But James words are so powerful, we would be negligent if we didn't take time to seriously consider them. - Pastor Kevin

God takes partiality (or favouritism) very seriously, as so should we. - Pastor Kevin

The Christian faith is a living, active faith. If our knowledge of God is limited to our head, and doesn't revive our heart and hands, it is not a faith based on the life, death, and Resurrection of Jesus Christ. - Pastor Kevin

James gives us the genealogy of sin and death in a simple and powerful passage. But he also gives us glimpses of the glory of God, His goodness, and His constancy. - Pastor Kevin
