This is our final week in our series, 'The Portrait Of A Disciple'. In it, we address the issue of despair, and how we respond to the challenges of following Jesus in a world that has largely rejected him.
Following Jesus isn’t always easy, in fact it seldom is, even Jesus’ own teaching can seem hard. The internal pressures of being a disciple can only be faced as we look beyond the ‘now’ and see the end result of what Jesus is accomplishing.
Join us as we move toward the close of our preaching series, 'The Portrait of a Disciple'.
Key Text: John 20:19-21
"A servant is not greater than his Master". That means we'll live the same way he did—as witnesses to the way, proclaimers of the truth, and examples of the life.
Join us for the next part of our 'Portrait of a Disciple' series
Key Text: John 13:1-17
To follow Christ is to follow his example (and attitude) of humble servant-hood.
Join us this week as we explore the surprising reality of the significance of servanthood.
The life of a disciple is a life of continual worship—but not just any worship. We all worship, even those who aren't followers of Christ. The point that sets a disciple apart is the object of our worship.
To follow Christ is to worship him as the supreme object of all our affections.
Key Text: Luke 14:25-33
This is the essential meaning of a disciple—one who follows Christ. This session highlights the word ‘follow’ by contrasting it with some of the other ways people try to entertain Jesus in their lives.
Key Text: Luke 9:23-25
Further establishing the foundations of discipleship, this session goes back to the reality of carrying the cross of Christ as being the core concept of Biblical discipleship.
