Ignorance is not our portion. Because we are not unaware of the enemy's schemes, we must be intentional about closing every door, guarding against carelessness, bitterness, and unforgiveness, which are entry points we often underestimate. What we leave unchecked, the enemy will not overlook.

The enemy is strategic, and so must we be. He watches for opportune moments, which is why vigilance and godly community are not optional extras but essential to how we walk. As God works in us through sanctification, our part is to yield, staying open to the Holy Spirit and letting Him shape every area of our lives without reservation.

The enemy does not show up with a straightforward fight. He works through temptation, accusation, deception, and idolatry, always angling to pull hearts away from the Lord. But no accusation can hold against those Christ has redeemed. The blood speaks a better word, and it speaks louder.

Spiritual warfare begins with knowledge. The more deeply we are rooted in God's Word, the less ground deception has to stand on. And here is what changes everything: we do not fight to win. We fight from a victory already secured. Everything we stand on, Christ has already accomplished.

When we pray, we are not informing God of anything He does not already know. We are positioning ourselves in full dependence on the One who holds everything together.

Faith and prayer cannot be separated. Prayer is a privilege, and we are called to press into it, to persist, to tarry, to stay on matters until something breaks open. Even after God has spoken, we do not stop. We keep watching, fasting, and praying until every word He has released finds its full expression in the earth.

What a way to kick off the Mid-Year Retreat! Pastor Nelson brought a message on salvation that cut deep and lifted high at the same time. Before we ever knew we needed saving, God already had a plan. Salvation is not man reaching up to God. It is God reaching down to us, drawing us, revealing our need, and making a way where there was none.

The weight of sin is a debt no human effort could ever cancel. So God did what only He could do. He sent Christ as our Saviour, taking on what we owed so we could receive what we never deserved. Righteousness before God is not earned. It is granted through faith in Jesus, and everyone who believes and confesses Him as Lord receives the gift of salvation in full.

That kind of grace does not stay silent. What we truly believe will always overflow into how we live and what we say. Believers carry the most important message in history, and we are called to proclaim it with boldness and without apology.

As we set our hearts in expectation for our Mid-Year Retreat, we were reminded to prepare with intentionality. Attention must first be given to God’s Word, approaching every gathering with hunger and readiness to receive.

We must also pay attention to God’s men and God’s work, recognising that the Lord often ministers through His servants and that the blessing may be found not only in the service but also in serving. Above all, we come with faith, expecting encounters and positioning our hearts to receive all that God has prepared
