Nerd, Ascended

What drives our interest in paranormal shows? With a dearth of ghost related reality shows available, there's something for everyone, from the spooky-adverse to the die hard ghost fans. Join us as we discuss the different types of ghost shows and what makes them scary, fun, and occasionally touching.

Our favorites of everything from 2023! We cover movies, TV, games, books, podcasts and more.

Welcome to Season 6 of the Nerd, Ascended Podcast! In our first episode, we take a look back at what didn't suck in 2021 and what we're anticipating in the nerd world in 2022.

A look back at our experience at RCCC 2021, including an opening clip recorded on the show floor! We chat about our favorite moments and where we see cons going post-pandemic.

* This episode was recorded toward the end of April 2021, with the intent of being uploaded ASAP. Unfortunately, our step-dad, Steve, passed away soon after recording. We're uploading now, though some of the media we mention is now officially out for viewing. We'd like to dedicate this episode to Steve, who always supported our nerdy endeavors and was a proud nerd himself. <3

The nerd world is awakening! We take a look at what's on the docket as we begin to make our slow crawl back to public social life - what are you most excited for?

In January 2020, we had a long list of things to be excited for in the pop culture world. A year later, very few of those came to pass -- but we still found space for books, movies, podcasts, TV and games that go us through a hell of a start to the decade. Join us for a look back!

SPECIAL EPISODE! It's our very first interview: the wonderful Shelby Shedrow of artisan wax melt shop Mischief Melted joins us to talk about how she turned her love of the Harry Potter fandom into a thriving Etsy shop. Want to try the wax melts yourself? Check out Mischief Melted on Etsy and use the code NERDASCENDED20 at checkout for a discount!

Some "controversial" opinions...and could it be, an actual disagreement between Natalie & Chelsea???

Disclaimer: We're not here for gatekeeping -  if you enjoy some of the things we don't, please go enjoy them to the fullest! And let us know where we got it wrong ;). This episode was recorded a month prior to uploading, and a few things have updated since then (Dune moved to a October 2021 premiere! Regal closed all their theaters again! Natalie started Lovecraft Country!)

Welcome to Nerd, Ascended Season 4! We're kicking things off with a look at the plans COVID tore asunder this summer, and what we did instead.

The return of Nerd, Ascended! We're out here surviving (maybe not thriving) during the pandemic and are back with updates on what movies have new release dates. We also have a quick review of Onward (now on Disney+) and jump in another episode of Supernatural -- full of cheesy goodness, scary lake children and a distinct lack of Elliot Stabler.
