"Have you ever thought about opposite smells" says a guy who has definitely never smoked weed today... Somehow we get from trash eating worm to Garbage Rex in like two minutes. Plus we'll shoot meat into your mouth and figure out if Digimon is actually Pokemon or not. It's a very heady episode.
First off, if we could just start by apologizing for all the nipple talk today... specifically when it comes to orangutans... The headline was everywhere but no one really paid much attention to the engineer who got suspended at Google after claiming that created a sentient AI. Also, we spend a lot of time giggling about falling into a tub of chocolate and requiring the jaws of life to escape. Shine your candy shell, we're having stupid fun!
We go live Tuesdays at 10a PT (pterodactyl time) for a longer look at the nerdy stuff that happens every week. This week it happens to be a lot of talk about pterosaurs. Fun fact: helicopter is actually helix (spiral) and pteron (wing) therefor a helicoptersaurus is a flying football wing. Right.
Welcome to June! Just three more weeks of later and later sunlight before it starts to get sucked away again. Today we're fixing livers and shooting down Starlink!
Pee eating dolphins, Pepsi pizza, burrito engineerin... wait, what was that about dolphins eating pee?!?
This week's show includes my talk with Neil deGrasse Tyson at the 23 minute mark of the show. Wild week, what a thrill! Thanks as always for your support.
What an epic opportunity to speak with American astrophysicist, planetary scientist, author, podcaster and science communicator, Neil deGrasse Tyson, as he discusses “The Cosmic Perspective" a show he's traveling around the country to present. Neil is every bit as well spoken and charming as you'd expect from a guy who made the Hayden Planetarium cool(er). We talk about cosmic perspective, competitiveness in the science communication field, and Neil's favorite planet!
Today we say goodbye to a piece of kit that completely changed the game for listening to music. RIP sweet sweet click-y wheel.
Our insatiable need for the cool blue light of our screens is going to prove problematic not just for our eyes, but for how we get the stuff to make them. Aaaand come thrifter found an antique bust and paid next to nothing for it - so what's it worth?
