If you’re going to a convention we can only assume you have listened to Issue 17 of our podcast and show up well groomed and prepared. Today we talk about our experiences during our first big con of the year. During this issue we talk about some more do’s and don’ts (some pretty big don’ts), our VIP interviews, and our overall experience. Remember kids if you buy something from a collector who has an emotional attachment to the item they will most likely tell as many people as possible that the items was theirs in the past…don’t convention with those people.

Are you one of those people who went to a convention and found out upon your arrival you didn’t have your tickets or other necessities? Yes we are those people too! You’re not alone this convention season, we have your back!
Here is a list of items that will help solidify a great comic convention experience and remember nerds, wash the stink off your body.
In this Issue we are joined by Brian Shearer artist extraordinaire with an undeniable love for G.I. JOE and Transformers. We talk about the industry, how he got in, tips & tricks and all around nerdy goodness!
A little about Brian,
He is a freelance artist living in Greensboro, NC. He has worked on titles such as GI Joe, Transformers and Doctor Who as well as creator owned books (Vex, Deputy Witch) and his ongoing web comic William the Last.
He hits six or seven comic conventions a year where he generally does commissions and sells prints.
Brian is available for commissions outside of conventions as well, please connect with Brian via his website http://brian-shearer.com
Examples of Brian’s work below.
In this Issue we are joined by Jay Bardyla from Happy Harbor Comics and Kelly Froese from the Nerd List to discuss bad habits or practices on both sides of the comic book desk and how we can move forward and build a better, stronger community.
Just imagine if one of your favourite super-characters was not the first of it’s kind. Just for a minute think to yourself, did I see Deadpool in the 80s? or was that someone else? Well we are here to talk about some of those carbon print characters with you in this episode.
It’s a new year and and a new us! Well it’s not a new us, it’s the same 2 nerds talking about the things our wives don’t want to hear…COMICS! After a short break we are coming back at you full force to fill your ear holes with some of our favourite things from 2016 and what our goals are for 2017. In the words of Paul J Trump “Let’s make comics great again!”.

Merry Christmas from Paul and Steven from Nerdebrates! We hope you have enjoyed listening to the podcast as much as we enjoy hearing ourselves talk and on that note a public service announcement from We Have Issues (www.wehaveissues.ca).
In our last podcast of the year we sit down with 2 collectors from the Full Frontal Nerdity Community and discuss what they collect and what kind of collector they might be. Are they a speculator, hoarder, purger, or flipper? Only one way to find out! Hold on to your underoos because it’s going to be a nerdy ride!
P.S. I guess there is something big around Detective comics #27, never heard of it.
In today’s issue of Nerdebrates we talk about who our favourite superheroes are and the reasoning behind it, which comics they came from, favourite spider-man, whos is your batman and what does he do, as well as touch on some of our guilty pleasures and who we simply can’t stand in the comicbook industry. This episode would not be complete without talking about Paul’s unconditional love for Underoos.
P.S. I’m not sure if Paul reads this but Plastic Man can go eat an eraser.
Issue 10 is a continuation of our last drunken Super Villain Team Up! Part 2 of this podcast is probably even less kid friendly or safe for work. In this episode we get even louder than the first time (the booze is really kicking in). In this backwards episode we chat (things get derailed…a lot) with our spouses about what it’s like living with a collector and a handful of other things that I can only remember by listening to the podcast! Really it was just Paul and I talking in front of the 2 people that knew they would have to drive one of us home and pray the other could walk up the stairs on his own.
Please enjoy our drunken comicbook tangents and please podcast responsibly.
For the record Paul did not drive home and I did not make it up the stairs.
