Lyndon White joins the Nerds again, this time to review Pan's Labyrinth. Lyndon is currently working on crowdfunding his latest graphic novel: "Candles". We have previously talked to him about that project, and you can find that episode by clicking here.

It's 1944 and the Allies have invaded Nazi-held Europe. In Spain, a troop of soldiers are sent to a remote forest to flush out the rebels. They are led by Capitan Vidal, a murdering sadist, and with him are his new wife Carmen and her daughter from a previous marriage, 11-year-old Ofelia. Ofelia witnesses her stepfather's sadistic brutality and is drawn into Pan's Labyrinth, a magical world of mythical beings.

Ruben Romero joins the Nerds once again, to talk about "The Illusion Witch" book 2. At the time of the recording, the Kickstarter campaign had 17 days to go, but due to some unfortunate circumstances, the episode was not ready to come out until today. Luckily the campaign was already on its way to being funded and achieved its goal at the end of June. You can still see what the campaign had to offer by heading over to Kickstarter.

Author R. H. Grimly joins me to talk about his upcoming series, Frightland. Frightland is a new scary middle-grade series inspired by R. L. Stine's Goosebumps series. R. H. Grimly grew up on series such as Goosebumps, Wait Till Helen Comes, and Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. Head over to Kickstarter to help back this project, and let them know the Nerds sent you.

The current campaign is for the first four books but is planned as a twelve-book anthology. Each book will be a self-contained story but exist in a shared universe.  After the first twelve books, R. H. Grimly plans to create a 13th novel that will bring the whole universe together. The series will feature covers by artists from Flavio Greco Paglia and Tim Jacobus. Tim Jacobus is known for his artwork on Goosebumps, Spine Tingles, Bone Chillers, and many more.  See below for the covers for the first 2 books.

The nerds review 2 episodes from Season one of Goosebumps. Goosebumps is a Canadian-American horror anthology tv series based on the book series of the same name.

"The Haunted Mask "is the 11th book in the original Goosebumps series written by R.L. Stine. It was published in September of 1993 by Scholastic. It aired on October 27, 1995, on Fox.

Carly Beth falls for every prank played on her. So on Halloween, she buys the scariest mask possible at an off-limits room at an old store. However, little does she know that the mask has a mind of its own.

"The Cuckoo Clock of Doom" is the 28th book in the original Goosebumps series. It was published in February of 1995 and aired on November 3, 1995.

In order to get his prank-loving little sister Tara in trouble, Michael turns the cuckoo's head in his father's cuckoo clock backwards, but soon regrets it when he is continuously transported back in time, with little chance of getting back to the present.

Casey Bowker & Ruben Romero join me today to review Scream & Scream 2.

The sleepy little town of Woodsboro just woke up screaming. There's a killer in their midst who's seen a few too many scary movies. Suddenly nobody is safe, as the psychopath stalks victims, taunts them with trivia questions, then rips them to bloody shreds. It could be anybody...

Scream was written by Kevin Williamson, directed by Wes Craven, and distributed by Dimension Films. It stars Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, Mathew Lillard, Rose McGowan, Skeet Ulrich, and Drew Barrymore. Scream was credited with revitalizing the horror genre of the 1990s, after the influx of direct-to-video horror titles and sequels. It combined the slasher genre with comedy, satire, and a whodunit mystery.

Sydney, Randy, Dewey, and Gale survived the events of the first "Scream," but their nightmare isn't over. When two college students are murdered at a sneak preview of "Stab," a movie based on the events from the first film, it's clear a copycat killer is on the loose. Sydney and her fellow survivors have to find out who is behind this new murder spree before they all end up dead.

Scream 2 was released a year later, with Williamson and Craven coming back as, writer and director. The sequel was developed while writing the initial script for Scream. It was considered a financial success on par with Scream, which helped spawn further sequels.

Rich Davis joined the Nerds to talk about his ongoing comic book series, "Cult of Dracula". Rich is the writer and Creator of "Cult of Dracula". It is being released by Second Sight Publishing & Source Point Press on March 31, 2021, on a monthly basis.

"Meet Special Agent Malcolm Bram, an FBI agent tasked to investigate a tragedy that's being called, "The Cult of Dracula Mass Suicides”. According to the media, members of a reclusive religious movement committed ritual suicide in a macabre event reminiscent of Jonestown. The truth is much darker and far more bloody."

The best place to get your copy is at your local comic book shop. Or you can head over to Source Point Press & Nirvana Comics and order your copy today. Get your Kindle version by clicking here.
