It’s Oscar season here in Nerdtastic-land and the politics of bestowing over-hyped awards on un-deserving recipients is upon us.  The Nerdtastic crew dives head first into their thoughts on the current state of the academy awards and ponders why Oscar viewership and loyalty seem to be waning in the past several years.  The crew continues their ongoing look at the epic war between Apple and Microsoft by analyzing this quarter’s earning reports, and talks Modern Warfare 3 DLC.

Of all the great technology debates, no other compares to the open warfare that Microsoft and Google’s “license our products to anyone and everyone” philosophy, has waged on Apple’s “closed and integrated” approach.  The Nerdtastic crew takes a hard look at this as well as the idea of paying a premium (0r possibly not) for convenience.  The get to  know your nerd segment brings us closer (than we want to be) to Top Gear America Producer Adam Mcfarlane, and finally the crew shares a few thoughts on the Stop Online Piracy Act, currently facing congress.  Bring on the Gong!

Happy New Year!!!  It’s 2012, the year the Mayan’s say will be our last.  Let’s start this year off with a gong.  CES 2012….the Nerdtastic crew shares their thoughts/feelings on this year’s consumer electronics lineup.  The guys also look at some pretty startling facts about YouTube, and wrap things up with a serious reflection on outsourcing cheap labor to other countries.  Is there an over-arching ethical imperative that we are ignoring by purchasing consumer electronics made by children on the other side of the world?

Wrapping up a wonderful 2011 with the final show of the year, Nerdtastic in 3D reveals the winner of the first annual “Nerdy” Game Of The Year award, compares Christmas wish-lists, grumbles about the 2011 Golden Globe nominations, geeks out on a high tech thermostat, and shares some thoughts on social media and how we all consume information.

This week on Nerdtastic in 3D, the inaugural “Nerdy” award is conceived for the Game of the Year, the crew shares their favorite games of all time as well as the most meaningful games they’ve played. A return to “Get To Know Your Nerd Corner,” an odd jaunt into religion with this week’s discovery of the new earth-like planet, Keppler-22b, and a some thoughts on Microsoft’s new Xbox dashboard.
