**Dragon Ball Super: Beerus NEEDS to Fix What Went Wrong.**

We've been waiting YEARS for the **Galactic Patrol / Moro arc**, so why is Toei taking us back to the beginning of Dragon Ball Super?

At first glance, **Dragon Ball Super: Beerus** might look like another remake or even a simple cash grab. But the more you look at what Toei is actually doing, the more interesting this project becomes.

The official **ENHANCED edition** of Dragon Ball Super isn't simply an upscale. Toei says the project includes **extensive new cuts, revisions to existing scenes, complete re-rendering of the footage, newly recorded dubbing, new score and sound effects, and a full reconstruction of the story** — with the goal of more faithfully expressing Akira Toriyama's original ideas and worldbuilding.

And honestly... **Dragon Ball Super needed this.**

When Super originally premiered in 2015, its early production became infamous for rushed and inconsistent animation, with **Episode 5's Goku vs. Beerus fight** becoming one of the most notorious examples. But rather than simply criticize the animators, we're looking at the bigger production problem — and what a new approach could mean for Dragon Ball's future.

Because Toei has also officially announced **Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol**, which will continue the story after the Tournament of Power and bring **Planet-Eater Moro** to the anime.

So why go back to Beerus?

Could this be about building a stronger foundation before Dragon Ball finally moves forward?

We also talk about Toei's major **One Piece production schedule change**, which moves the flagship series toward approximately **26 new episodes per year** beginning in 2026. While there is no official confirmation that One Piece staff are being moved onto Dragon Ball, the broader shift toward giving major anime productions more breathing room could have important implications for the future quality of Dragon Ball.

And this one gets personal. I talk about discovering **Dragon Ball in 1995**, having my parents drive me to the only anime store I knew of in Memphis so I could buy Japanese Dragon Ball manga that I couldn't even read, making my first terrible **“Temu Goku”** sculpture in middle-school art class, and how Dragon Ball ultimately helped inspire my passion for **weightlifting and fitness**.

Because Dragon Ball wasn't just an anime I watched. **

It became part of who I am.**

And that's why the future of Dragon Ball — and the legacy of **Akira Toriyama** — matters so much to me.

With **Dragon Ball Super: Beerus officially premiering in Japan October 11, 2026**, is this the version of Super that Dragon Ball fans deserved from the beginning?
