Netflix Book Club

Dennis got to pick this week and he's waited a long time to see this movie. All Is Lost is a film starring Robert Redford as our guy at sea, dealing with a shipwreck. That's it. That's the whole movie. TITILLATING STUFF HERE GUYS. No seriously that's the whole plot and there is no dialogue in this movie at all. A short monologue at the top but that's it. Give a listen and see if this movie holds up to Dennis' hopes. Leave us a comment on our official site www.flixbookclub.com and shoot us a #streamit or #dontstreamit on Twitter @flixbookclub! Join us next week for Stephen's pick, a documentary called Video Games: The Movie.

Stephen chose Frequencies for our episode 6 pick. It is a sci fi romance that does A LOT of things, and a lot of people have been talking about it. This movie was seen by all of us on several "best of Netflix" lists so we were curious to see what all the hubbub was about. We know for sure this one's gonna bring in a lot of mixed reviews. Leave us a comment/shoot us an email through the website www.flixbookclub.com and tweet us your thoughts @flixbookclub! Make sure to hashtag it with a #streamit or #dontstreamit. Next week we watch the few worded Robert Redford vehicle All is Lost.

KUMITE! KUMITE! KUMITE! Episode 5 is brought to you by the Kumite, a tournament that brings the worlds best fighters together to smash each others faces in. This one stars Jean Claude Van Damme, it was KC's pick, and we enjoyed the hell out of it. This is Flix Book Club at it's finest: overanalyzing a cheesy 80's martial arts movie. Hit us up on twitter @flixbookclub and tell us if you think it's worth a #streamit or #dontstreamit. As always www.flixbookclub.com is your home for all FBC information. Tune in next week when we watch Stephen's pick, Frequencies, an indie sci-fi movie with a lot of hype.

PS - We know at the end of last episode (Enron: The Smartest Guys In The Room) we said this weeks pick would be Chinatown. Sorry about that.

We get our white collar crime on this week with episode 4, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room. This was Stephen's pick, a documentary about the bastard company Enron and more specifically their 2001 scandal and ultimate demise. This one's filled with villains guys. Smarmy, upper crust villains! Listen in to see if anyone gives it a #streamit and to see just how many of us said #dontstreamit (ha!). Check out the new website www.flixbookclub.com and follow us on twitter @flixbookclub!

Episode 3 was a doozy. At times it felt as long as the time our poor protagonist spent locked up in that hotel room. What, you didn't know that already? Didn't you watch the original Korean version? No not that Korea, South Korea. Anyway, listen to the guys reminisce about how good the original 2003 film was and where exactly Spike Lee went wrong with this one. Follow us on here and on Twitter @NFBCpodcast, check out the website www.netflixbookclub.com and leave us comments! Do you agree with us, do you not, #streamit, #dontstreamit, maybe you liked the remake! Tell us why! Check us out next week where we talk about Bloodsport! (Yeah we know we said Enron: Smartest Guys in the Room. Maybe you'll hear it someday, if you're behaved.)
