Streaming giant Netflix has admitted to saving time and money by using artificial intelligence to create an entire sequence in one of its shows.
The Co-CEO Ted Sarandos says one sequence in an Argentinian limited series was completed ten times quicker by using generative AI than if it were done by a VFX team.
VFX artist and founder of indie outfit Luminary Studios Rassoul Edji told Radio National Breakfast the use of the technology "crosses a boundary" that "replaces the artist... removing the creative aspect of it."
