In this first part of our discussion of The Home for Unwanted Girls by Joanna Goodman, Jared explains the very scientific process we used to select this month's book. We also learn horrifying things about the Canadian orphanage system of the 1950's, and we just... have a lot of feelings.

For March, we decided to try something different, and paired off to swap books. Here is part one of our episode about two books with important social themes: "The Hate U Give" by Angie Thomas and "Give a Boy a Gun"  by Todd Strasser. Part Two of our discussion of our affectionately dubbed "trashy romance. In this episode, Jared laments the ship we all we wanted to see sail, Adam overshares about what this book did not provide him, Tony admits to reading "those stories" online, and Erin wishes our characters would just talk to each other, damn it. For February, we chose "The Golden Barbarian" by Iris Johansen for our "trashy romance" (a term we use with the utmost affection.)
