Giovanna Lester is a conference interpreter, translator, speaker, writer. She began her career  in 1980. She's been president of two Florida Chapters (3 terms total; and is a co-founder of the current one, ATIF), vice-chair of the National Board of Certification for Medical Interpreters, Editor and Curator of NAJIT’s weekly online publication, The NAJIT Observer, served as Assistant Admin and Administrator in the ATA interpreters Division,  and the ATA's  marketing team. She was Chair of Miami-Dade College’s Translation and Interpretation Advisory Committee.  She loves to write about her careers and has contributed to ATA’s The Chronicle, NAJIT’s Proteus, The NAJIT Observer, and also publishes on LinkedIn.

She joins us today to share her story and talk about the power of network and associations .
