In this very first episode of the NeuroHive, get to know your host, Alex Vonderhaar. As a professional neuro-marketer, Alex has found human attention interesting since he was a child. This led to a love of motion graphics and art. He fell in love with tricking the brain to think things were real. Everyone told him not to pursue an art degree, and so Alex went after a science degree. He studied how the brain works and how drugs affect the brain. It was a near-death experience during his senior year of college that would pull Alex from the medical path into things like breath work and cryotherapy. It wasn’t long until he stumbled on flotation therapy and began to get the answers he was seeking.
Alex ended up working a minimum wage job scrubbing the float tanks until the business almost shut down. Alex decided to learn digital marketing and single-handedly saved the business. With all this knowledge of the neuroscience behind marketing, Alex was ready to branch out on his own. He took the leap and started his own neuro-marketing agency. Now he’s ready to share that knowledge with others. Through interviews and personal experiences, Alex hopes there will be something to learn in each episode.
What You’ll Learn:
- How slight of hand magic led to Alex’s interest in human attention.
- How a near-death experience caused Alex to pivo his life.
- What sensory deprivation and flotation therapy is.
- What neuro-marketing is.
