Jason and Yvonne are a creative duo based out on the Isle of Tiree within the Inner Hebrides of Scotland. They are professional problem solvers, solution creators and bring together specialist researchers, analysts, creators and makers around the world, which forms the brand Dutch-Engels. As we met them together, I was joined by my wife Hayley for this episode, and we chatted with Jason and Yvonne about the philosophy behind the company, the various projects they’ve worked on (which include rearing sheep and re-inventing the sandwich) and what inspired them to move somewhere so far removed from the city lives they’d lived previously. Alastair Wiper is an English photographer based in Copenhagen, Denmark. He has developed a bold style shooting work with an industrial, scientific and industrial focus. Alastair joined me for a chat about his relatively late start as a photographer, how he set about finding his focus and style, the atmosphere he seeks to create, and how his approach to finding spaces to shoot led into more commercial ventures. Also his love of David Lynch soundtracks.

Sun Lee is a London-based still life photographer, originally from Melbourne. In this episode Sun shares his journey from first picking up a camera through to studying, and working as an assistant for a variety of photographers in Australia. This led him to travel more, and eventually led him to establish his own career in London. Beth Evans is a London-based photographer, working primarily in the world of still life, interiors and food. Beth offers her perspective on the draw towards photography and how this led to her working as an assistant, and then the process of establishing her own career. Danny North is a portrait photographer based in Falmouth, Cornwall. Danny had his beginnings as a staff photographer at the NME in Leeds, shooting live shows and promo work for bands across the UK. This led him on to working closely with the Kaiser Chiefs which was things started to really take off. Danny talks about this experience, and his eventual shift away from working solely as a music photographer. Lee-Ann Olwage is a documentary photographer based in South Africa, working on intimate, celebratory and collaborative long-form projects.
