Today we talk about the Innovation Funnel Concept to manage your organizations innovation processes. In addition, we review the 3 workshops that can allow your organization to move to one of an Innovation Culture. The results are saving money, reducing risk and driving everything you create with a focus on Customer Value.

People ask how do I work on so many things at one time. Today I do a straight talk to the camera about how I manage my day. My day today started at 5AM where I grabbed a coffee and jumped on the treadmill to read 2 chapters of a process improvement text book. By 6:30 I was out the door for my first meeting with a potential client to share my 3 formats of the Innovation Workshops. At 8:30 I was on a call with my offshore development team working on an innovation project (can't wait to share the release of this one). At 9AM I was meeting with my intern to make changes to a prototype for another innovation and by 11AM I was in with the executive team sharing the updates and demoing the new feature set. At 12 noon I was with the Marketing PM to document a customer journey of the new product so we can build out the press release (more to come on that one). The rest of the afternoon was spent working on the Patent Application. On the drive home I talked with my start-up about some features and funding meetings that were being held during the day. Finally, I did the Anchor podcast with Sean Hirst and then straight into the Straight Talk Innovating a Game Changer Podcast (This one). I'll bring you more tomorrow. In order to innovate we need to move product to the customer quickly with the best quality possible. Application Security Vulnerability testing is critical to stop security breaches, but our security teams are often overwhelmed, understaffed, and overworked. The result is lags in security scans and higher costs in retrofitting the fixes. We fix this by moving the application security testing into the DevOps space by automating the scans at developer checkin time. We will take a quick look at a white paper by Checkmarx on the ROI of Shifting Left.

Design Sprint Outcomes. Today we look at the outcomes of this weeks design sprint. What we learnt over the week. I am joined by my Intern William Parish again who was integral in the design sprint process and helped drive solutions for some really innovative ideas.

Today we hosted a livestream with Josh and William 2 millennials who joined with me in the intern program. We talked about a number of things, including how to rapid prototype, next generation technologies, security, Kennesaw state university, internships, software development, and a host of other topics.
