Today is the October 10th, 2018 live broadcast of New Abolitionists Radio with hosts Max Parthas and Scotty T Reid.

Tonight, we’ve got a huge change to announce. It affects US slavery abolitionists everywhere. This is important. Stay tuned and we’ll explain. We’ll be going deep tonight on the concept of a white race in history. When have we ever not been controversial? Expect it. We’re the people who think differently about things by definition. • Freedom fighter and thorn in a president’s side, Fannie Lou Townsend Hamer was born on October 6, 1917, in Montgomery County, Mississippi. • On October 10th, 1845, The United States Naval Academy opened in Annapolis, Maryland, with 50 midshipmen students and seven professors. 99 years later, Wesley Anthony Brown (April 3, 1927 – May 22, 2012) was the first Black graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis. • Tonight, we’re all Kanye West all day. We’re hoping he calls into the program as we’ve sent quite a few invitations. Big Shout out to our listeners and supporters who went full twitter bomb.

Why are we talking about Kanye West? Because that brother has publicly announced himself as a slavery abolitionist. In one single tweet, he had millions of people all over the country talking about the 13TH amendment for the 1st time.

• October 1st, 1962, James Meredith, an African American man, attempted to enroll at the all-white University of Mississippi. Chaos soon broke out on the Ole Miss campus, with riots ending in two dead, hundreds wounded and many others arrested, after the Kennedy administration called out some 31,000 National Guardsmen and other federal forces to enforce order.

Tonight, we’re going deep into Felony Disenfranchisement laws and its history. From Greece's Civil Death codes to the black codes after the Civil War. From Civil rights to now. I've peeped the slavers game. Been researching all week and ya'll know how I am when I get my teeth into something. I look for thing’s others can't see because they aren't using an abolitionists perspective.

• On September 29, 1975 on channel 62 in Detroit, Michigan, the first television station in the United States owned and operated by African Americans began broadcasting. Founded by William Venoid Banks, It was Banks’ vision that WGPR-TV provides African Americans with crucial training and experience in the television industry, allowing many local blacks the opportunity to work "behind the camera" in producing, directing and other roles which placed content on air. The station ran till 1995.

In 1831, Garrison published the first edition of The Liberator. His words, "I am in earnest — I will not equivocate — I will not excuse — I will not retreat a single inch — AND I WILL BE HEARD," clarified the position of the NEW ABOLITIONISTS.

Garrison was not interested in compromise.

• Our Riders of the 21st-century Underground Railroad today Valentino Dixon. Mr Dixon, 48, had maintained his innocence during 27 years behind bars for a shooting in Buffalo, New York.

He walked free this month after another man formally confessed to the murder.

The 13th Amendment of the US Consitution did end slavery when it carves out the exception clause that led directly to Jim Crow laws across the country, primarily in the South to target the  large African-American populations the vast majority who were formerly enslaved and put them into what became known as the convict leasing system which is still in practice in less barbaric ways than in the 1800s. Because of the 13th Amendment, all persons of every age, sex, gender, race, religion or national origin can legally become of slaves regardless of guilt or innocence.

• On September 17, 1849, Harriet Tubman (Araminta Ross) and her brothers, Ben and Henry, escaped from slavery

Once they had left, Tubman’s brothers had second thoughts. Ben may have just become a father. The two men went back, forcing Tubman to return with them.

Soon afterward, Tubman escaped again, this time without her brothers and successfully.

• September 20, 1830

The first National Convention for Free Men agrees to boycott slave-produced goods. This first documented convention was held at Mother Bethel A.M.E. Church in Philadelphia in September 1830. Delegates to this convention discussed the prospect of emigrating to Canada to find refuge from the harsh fugitive slave laws and violent oppression under which they lived in the United States.

• This past Saturday, September 15th, was the 55th anniversary of the bombing at the 16th Street Baptist Church in Birmingham. Killing Addie Mae Collins, Denise McNair, Carole Robertson and Cynthia Wesley and two young boys killed shortly after the bombing, Johnny Robinson Jr. and Virgil Ware. All children.

1796 – 1830. Author of David Walker's Appeal. . . , a document that has been described as "for a brief and terrifying moment. . ., the most notorious document in America."

• Our Rider of the 21st-century Underground Railroad today is Timmy Duke. Timmy spent nearly 30 years in prison with 60 to go for a burglary charge that happened while he was in jail.

On January 23, 2018, Duke was released from prison. He was granted parole on the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle conviction and was granted bond on the burglary charge.
