Remember from high school English class how we are supposed to “show” and not “tell”? Join us this Sunday as we explore how Jesus “showed” his disciples and a crowd of over five thousand how to believe in him. This was more than just a magic trick; it has real application for us today.

Last week, we saw Jesus heal two people. For many of us, that raises questions like, “If Jesus has the power to heal, why isn’t He healing me or my loved one?” This Sunday, we’ll explore this question through the lens of Jesus’ comments that follow these healings. We’ll also have a panel of people from within our church community who are walking through a season of physical pain without what seems to be the healing of Jesus. They are learning to grapple with this question and trust Jesus in the process. We pray this Sunday will be a time to know that your questions matter, your experience matters, and that Jesus is still the source of all healing, both now and in eternity. We would love to get an opportunity to pray with you at the end of the service. Please join us as we seek to better understand the problem of pain and the power of Jesus.

There are fewer things in life that will get our attention than facing our human limitations, especially when it comes to matters of physical, mental, or relational healing. In our passage this Sunday, Jesus engages with two people in need of healing to point us to deeper realities found in Him. What Jesus has to teach us in these interactions goes beyond the cognitive level to questions and challenges many of us face. Join us this Sunday as we seek to understand what is happening in these interactions and the following Sunday as we explore the questions raised about faith and healing.

Last week, we heard about Jesus offering the Samaritan woman

Have you ever been thirsty? You need to take a long drink from a deep cup. We are often keenly aware of our needs and search out ways to meet them. The more pressing the need, the more desperate we are to meet it. This Sunday, we explore a passage in which Jesus uses His physical need to engage a woman’s spiritual need. As He leaves Judea, Jesus decides to go right through the heart of Samaria on his way to Galilee. His true mission is to go right after the heart of the Samaritan people. It all begins with a woman, a well, and a need for water.

Do you ever feel pulled into the comparison pitfall? Why them, not me? Do you feel the insecurity or the sense of superiority that comes with it? In our passage this Sunday, a conflict arises that surfaces these kinds of questions and emotions. John the Baptist masterfully points us to the important choices and perspectives that set us free to live a meaningful life.
