As we roll into 2022 we revisit a preach from the end of 2020 from Bo Noonan. This teaching highlights how our grabs for control are counter to what is most helpful for us - a trust in our good Father who provides what we really need and who is our Promised Land.
Bo Noonan teaches from John 1, helping us to see who the Church is for and how we are called to be a both/and church, rather than an either/or church. Jesus was full of both grace and truth, not one or the other, and he calls us to be full of both as well.
Bo Noonan teaches teaches part four of our 2021 Advent series. How can we have peace, even in the midst of great difficulty? Jesus invites us, not only to receive a free gift of grace with God, but also to consider and practice a life of peace that comes from living out his ways.
Waymond Hampton teaches part two of our 2021 Advent series. Jesus came as Mighty God, yet not in the way anyone expected. His might was and is seen in both the understated AND the powerfully miraculous and is always at work, whether we know it or not.
Bo Noonan teaches part one of our 2021 Advent Series. Jesus is our Wonderful Counselor - even in the midst of great difficulty, God's promises remain fully true in Jesus.
Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 9:30-50. After an argument between the disciples about who would be greatest in Jesus' kingdom, Jesus take them aside to teach them about the greatness he would display for them and train them in...the greatness of being a servant.
Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 9:14-29. As Jesus descends from the mountain where he showed his true radiance, he finds some of his disciples in the midst of a fruitless argument with religious leaders and a desperate father. Instead of engaging in the argument, Jesus deals with the true issue at hand, the need for healing and faith in God's provision and compassion.
Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 9:1-13, where Jesus continues to help Peter, James, and John see more clearly who his is by inviting them to see him transfigured on the mountain.
Bo Noonan teaches through Mark 8:34-9:1. Here we get the clearest picture of the life Jesus calls his apprentices to, the same life he himself came to live: to deny himself, to take up his cross, and to follow his Father.
Alissa Cooley teaches from Psalm 84 and John 20. Psalm 84 tells us that "better is one day in God's courts than a thousand elsewhere" - but how do we get there, and are we invited? The story of Mary Magdalene helps us find the answers.
