God is our "homeland". We have been released from the "exile" of sin, and now are to dwell each day in him. Isaiah chapters 56 to 60 describe how the people of Israel were to live, once released from exile, and we too can learn from this. We are to be "lowly"; we are to be "restorers of streets to live in"; and we are to "live from God's Word". As a result, the church will "arise and shine" to show the world God's glorious plan for his creation.

The warmth of God's welcome, expressed in Isaiah chapter 55, is unsurpassed in the Bible, even in the New Testament. The work of the Suffering Servant in chapter 53 results in a free invitation for all - to partake in the richness of God's abundance, the refreshing of his very presence. Listen, as God invites you to eat and drink spiritual food and water, and urges you to pass on the same invitation to others!

God wants to enlarge you! He wants to establish you firmly so that you can withstand all attacks, and so that something of significance can be established through you. Listen to the prophet Isaiah, speaking by the Holy Spirit, as he starts, in chapter 54 of his book, to outline the blessings that flow from the work of God's Suffering Servant in the previous chapter. This is part of our teaching series on the book of Isaiah.

Isaiah chapter 53 is sometimes known as "the gospel according to Isaiah". In this majestic passage, we see God's "Suffering Servant" taking on the sins - and the punishment - of many peoples, in order to make them clean. Be inspired, as you listen to this poetic description of the most amazing exchange ever made, written hundreds of years before the events it describes, but exhibiting divine accuracy and foresight in what it both predicts and celebrates.

We have the most wonderful news ever entrusted to human beings, and have the responsibility and the privilege of sharing it with others. To do this, we must be prepared. We may not always be welcomed by people, but in God's eyes our "feet" are beautiful and fitted to the task of running with the best news possible.

If you are a "born-again Christian" then you were born into a war - not against human beings, but against dark spiritual powers. It is a war that Jesus has already won at the cross, but there are still battles to fight before it's all finally over. The enemy will attack anyone who sets out to live for God's kingdom, but God has given us the means to defend ourselves - the "full armour of God" (Ephesians 6). Listen as Paul describes this armour, what it is for, and how to use it.

In this uplifting message by guest speaker Ewen Robertson, we reflect on Psalm 84. As Christians, we are on "pilgrimage". As we travel, we (and those around us) will sometimes pass through difficult places, but we can make these a place of "springs" because of God's presence with us. It's time for some spiritual caffeine! Three times in Isaiah 51:9-52:2 the prophet exclaims, "Awake, awake!" God wants you to be fully awake and alert to what he is doing, and wants to do. Remember his deeds of earlier days, clothe yourself with the strength he provides, and determine to stay awake to his voice and his activity, to take your place in his purposes for this generation!

In the third of the famous "Servant Songs" in Isaiah (chapter 50), the Suffering Servant looks to the God who vindicates. Following after him, whenever we encounter times when we are wrongly accused or misunderstood, we must look to God - knowing that our Vindicator is near, even if the vindication itself may take time.
