The Lord’s prayer is a prayer of relationship, but not just my personal relationship with Him, OUR relationship with Him. We’re going to learn what Jesus was teaching us when it came to the Lord’s prayer.

Life is a struggle; but when we struggle…with prayer, God opens our eyes to more options than we can see without prayer. Jesus went through struggles, in fact, one of His greatest struggles was right before He went to the cross while in a garden called Gethsemane. Jesus is going to show us a way to see what God sees as we go through struggles in our lives through prayer.

The bible says, "Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.” The good news is that God knows what’s best for us, so some of our prayers are not answered the way we want them to be answered, in fact, it’s better.

When it comes to prayer, there is usually one of five categories that people fall into. I pray, I don’t pray, I don’t know how to pray, I recite the same prayer, I’m learning to pray. Prayer is simply conversing with God. It also involves these traits with God: communicating, speaking out loud and in my mind, poetry, journaling and most importantly, listening. We’re going to learn to pray like Jesus because He gave us the best example for an effective prayer life.

Something changes when the father takes the leadership role in the home spiritually. Families become stronger when the father steps into the role of spiritual leader of the home. Father’s are given the authority to lead their families spiritually by God Himself. We’re going to find out what can happen when dads are courageous enough to take lead in the home spiritually.
