New Hope PCUSA

This Palm Sunday, we continue our series through From Wilderness to Glory by N. T. Wright with the chapter “Jesus in the City.” As Jesus enters Jerusalem to shouts of “Hosanna,” the crowd welcomes him like a king—but not everyone understands the kind of kingdom he brings. This triumphant entry is both celebration and confrontation, hope and tension. Together, we’ll explore what it means to welcome Christ into the heart of our cities, our systems, and our lives—and whether we are ready for the kind of reign he actually brings.

This Sunday, we continue our series through From Wilderness to Glory by N. T. Wright with the chapter “Jesus Among Enemies.” From religious leaders to political authorities, Jesus faced resistance, suspicion, and hostility. Yet he responded not with fear or retaliation, but with courage, clarity, and costly love. Together, we’ll consider what it means to follow a Savior who remained faithful in the face of opposition—and what that kind of faithfulness looks like for us today.

This Sunday, we continue our journey through From Wilderness to Glory by N. T. Wright with the chapter “Jesus Among Friends.” Jesus didn’t carry out his mission alone—he formed a community. Around tables, on dusty roads, and in honest conversation, he shaped ordinary people into faithful companions. Together, we’ll explore what it means to follow Christ not just as individuals, but as friends learning to trust, forgive, and grow alongside one another.

This Sunday, we continue our series through From Wilderness to Glory by N. T. Wright with the chapter “Jesus in Prayer.” Again and again in the Gospels, Jesus steps away from the crowds to pray—seeking clarity, strength, and communion with the Father. What does that rhythm teach us about dependence, discernment, and faithful living? Join us as we explore how prayer shaped Jesus’ mission—and how it can shape ours.

This Sunday, we continue our journey through From Wilderness to Glory by N. T. Wright with the chapter “Jesus Among the Crowds.” As Jesus steps into the noise, need, and longing of the masses, we see a Savior who is not distant from human struggle but fully present within it. Together, we’ll explore what it means to follow a Messiah who meets people where they are—hungry for hope, healing, and belonging—and how we, too, are called to live faithfully in the midst of the crowd.

The wilderness reveals what truly matters, stripping away distractions to show us whose we are. As we journey through Lent, we're challenged to examine the voices influencing us, to ask where we're choosing control over trust, and to create space for God to prepare us for what's next.

This Sunday, we conclude our series on the Lord’s Prayer with the words, “For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever.” Drawing from Chapter 6 of The Lord’s Prayer, we’ll reflect on what it means to place our trust not in ourselves or our systems, but in God’s reign of love, justice, and hope.
