Every Jesus follower is the beneficiary of someone’s obedience to the mission of Jesus.  We follow Jesus because someone invited us, someone provided a space to learn about Jesus. Someone wrote a book that moved us. Someone told us their story. Someone did something that affected us. Very few people have come to know Jesus without another person involved. In this teaching series, we continue to highlight the reach of our mission at New Hope and how Christ is using our church to reach the last, the lost, and the least.

We live in a fast paced world. We might be tempted to think that this state of being is simply a modern-day problem, but the scriptures give us an account of how worry, distraction, and anxiety played out in the life of one of Jesus’ close friends. Her name was Martha. Today we learn that If we want to cultivate patience in our fast-paced world, we must make time to stop and sit at the feet of Jesus.

The political system we are in takes us out of patiently trusting God and instead aligns us with self-trust. We then become frayed, worried and impatient. We must learn to discern how man-made political structures might steal our primary orientation to be people that PATIENTLY trust God and not trust our own understanding.
