New Hope Tampa Bay Sunday Sermon Podcast

This Sunday, July 23, we'll continue the "I Am a Church Member" sermon series at both our main campus (and our Dover campus at 11 am) featuring an accompanying book by Thom Rainer by the same name. We still have a few books left. What does church membership mean? How is it different from other forms of "membership" in American society? We've talked about what it means to be a fully functioning church member and considered our commitment to be unifying church members. This week we'll explore how our preferences don't trump our mission. The message is titled, "I Will Not Let My Church Be About My Preferences and Desires." We'll look at a number of texts, but the key one is found in Mark 9:35: "He sat down, called the twelve disciples over to him, and said, “Whoever wants to be first must take last place and be the servant of everyone else.” Watch the Video and more here: http://www.brandonchurch.com/sermons/ --- - Website: http://www.findnewhope.com/ - Donate via PayPal to support the podcasts and the Technical Arts Ministry of New Hope! https://goo.gl/o2a9oU - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brandonchurchfl - YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/fumcmedia - Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/findnewhope - Google+: http://plus.google.com/+Fumcbrandon/

This Sunday, June 18, we'll follow-up our message titled "Talk to People" that reminded us one of the key things the Holy Spirit influences us to do is share our faith in ways that help people draw closer to Christ with a two-part series on the Great Commandment of Jesus to love God and love people found in Matthew 22:34-40. (To read this text go to: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew+22%3A34-40&version=NLT) The Message is titled: "Avoiding Unloving Traps." This Sunday, June 11, we'll follow-up our celebration of Pentecost (the coming of the Holy Spirit) with a message titled "Tell Your Story" that reminds us one of the key things the Holy Spirit influences us to do is share our faith in ways that help people draw closer to Christ. In John 4 Jesus meets a woman at a well, and we see a model for how we can engage people in meaningful ways with His Good News, too. To really be prepared it would be great to read all of John 4 (https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=John+4&version=NLT) Watch the Video and more here: http://www.brandonchurch.com/sermons/tell-your-story-6112017 --- - Website: http://www.findnewhope.com/ - Donate via PayPal to support the podcasts and the Technical Arts Ministry of New Hope! https://goo.gl/o2a9oU - Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/brandonchurchfl - YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/user/fumcmedia - Vimeo: http://vimeo.com/findnewhope - Google+: http://plus.google.com/+Fumcbrandon/

This Sunday, June 4, is Pentecost when we celebrate God's gift of the Holy Spirit to all who say "Yes!" to being Christ followers 2000 years ago, throughout history, and even now. Last week we talked about how Jesus- just before His ascension into heaven- told His followers to wait for the gift of the Holy Spirit to guide them and bring power. We discovered that waiting on God is hard, but it's worth it. We'll look at Numbers 11 – a text which describes a time when God gave the Holy Spirit to people 3500 years ago in response to complaints. It was like a Pentecost before Pentecost. This Sunday, May 28, we will focus on the Ascension of Jesus in Luke's Gospel found in chapter 24:44-53 (to read this text go to: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+24%3A44-53&version=NLT). The resurrected Jesus leaves His followers and tells them to wait for the Holy Spirit. I don't like to wait. Do you? How do we wait for the things we want most from God? We'll discover that waiting on God is hard, but it's worth it. Join us this Sunday for a very special day of worship. Passion Student Ministries will be conducting the liturgy in all three of our services, as well as taking complete control (music, ushers, etc.) at our 9:30 service. We will also acknowledge our graduates from high school and college at 9:30. What a great opportunity to be face to face with the youth of our church. They have put a lot of time and effort into making this a worship experience to remember.
