This Sunday, October 8, we conclude our sermon series featuring Louie Giglio called "Relat(able): Making Relationships Work." We have focused on our relationship with God – God's abundant grace, who we are in Christ, and that we have a heavenly father who loves us and calls us his own. We have talked about being the kind of friend we long to have, and last week we talked about God's plan in marriage. This week's message is titled **"The Handshake of Peace,"** for we are called to relationships that reflect God's desire for us to be forgiving of others and reconciled to them. Two of our key Scriptures will be Romans 12:18: *"If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all."* And Matthew 6:12-15: *"And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses."* Subscribe to our Sunday Morning Sermons on iTunes. This Sunday, September 24, we'll continue with our sermon series featuring Louie Giglio called "Relat(able): Making Relationships Work." The message is titled "The Friend You've Always Longed For." During the first few weeks of the series, we focused on our relationship with God (God's abundant grace, who we are in Christ, and that we have a heavenly father who loves us and calls us his own). Using that as our foundation, this week we will be talking about our relationships with others, specifically our friends. What kind of friend have you always longed for? What kind of friend are we called to be in Christ? Using Romans 12:9-21, we will discuss six attributes of great, Godly friends.

The opening verses of the Bible paint a picture of God's original plan for how we were intended to live our lives: as managers of a flawlessly-ordered world – where every rock, plant & animal had its own designated place within God's design; where each could thrive individually while also serving the good of the whole. And the force that held this peaceful & productive world in balance was God's sovereignty over all. The Bible's closing verses show how we will one day be restored to that original, perfect existence. And in-between, God reveals daily exercises and practical tips that you & I can use here and now – not just to survive, but thrive – even while enduring the dysfunction, disorder, and disappointments we encounter in a fallen world. Our sermon, “We Were Made to Thrive”, will remind us of God's great desire for his children.
