Selfless love does not seem possible in the world today. We are far too divided, suspicious, and angry toward one another. However, we all yearn for someone to extend selfless love toward us.

This Sunday morning we are going to talk about selfless, unconditional love. We are going to discover that not only is it possible, it is in fact a reality; we can experience selfless love and we can share selfless love with others.

We are going to talk about "Embracing Great Expectations" for life this Sunday morning. So many of us are wandering through life without meaning nor purpose. Unfortunately, we have minimal expectations in life.

Hudson Taylor was a great missionary to Mainland China in the 19th century. He was powerfully used by God to touch the hearts and lives of Chinese people with the gospel. His work is recognized in China to this very day. His motto was; "Expect great things from God, attempt great things for God."

This Sunday morning we are going to learn that is exactly what God wants us to experience: "Great things from God so that we will attempt great things for God."

Victorious Hope is a hope that is beyond our imagination. It is a hope that declares; "We are not just going to make it through this, we have victory on the other end."

Optimistic people tend to take unnecessary and dangerous risks. Pessimistic people tend to just hideout. Either way, both people are building their hope on the wrong foundation.

This Sunday we are continuing our study of 1 Peter. Peter is writing to people who are discouraged by circumstances. He encourages them with "Victorious Hope."

We are all required to have proper identification. We are issued a Social Security card when we are very young. We cannot get on an airplane without proper identification.

What is fascinating is the reality that our identity directly affects our destiny in life.

God has given His people a very clear identity; we are "His beloved children." That reality is intended to give us a secure identity and a destiny full of hope.

In this message we will talk about how our identity affects our destiny.

We have been created by God to contribute and not just consume. There is something within each of us that inspires us to be part of something greater.

Several years ago, thirteen teenage soccer players in Thailand were hopelessly trapped in a subterranean cave. Rescue teams from different nations in the world cooperated to deliver the young men from a certain grave. We watched as the drama unfolded. Every one of us prayed that against all odds they would be rescued. We collectively wanted to be part of something heroic.

God has placed that in our hearts: the yearning to be part of something greater, something heroic. We want our lives to count. We want to contribute and not just consume.

We all yearn for real, genuine relationships. In fact, God has created us to share life together.

Unfortunately, relationships in our culture are strained beyond recognition. We are losing confidence in our relationships with our elected officials, our churches, in our marriages, and life in general.

There is one relationship available to us that will never fail us. When we engage in that relationship it will have a powerful and beneficial impact on all our other relationships.

This Sunday morning we are going to talk about "Wired for Worship." God has spiritually wired us in such a way that we must worship. Worship is giving "worth to" something that is beyond us. Unfortunately, we as human beings tend to worship things of this world.

We witnessed what it is to worship the things of this world this week. It was heartbreaking to watch people mob and attack our nation's capital. That despicable act leaves us frightened, confused, anxious, and can lead to depression. It is the result of putting our hopes and dreams on the things of this world. There is an old saying; "You become what you worship." Putting our hopes and dreams on the things of this world will always lead to profound disappointment.

This Sunday morning we are going to learn the value of giving God His due value and worth. We will learn about the value of worshiping Him. When we gather with others there is a greater feeling of joy, peace, love, and most of all hope.

"Training Believers to Transform the World." It is the reason why we exist as a church.

Unfortunately, so many of us go through life never having a clue who we are, or why we exist. That leads to confusion in life. It is true of organizations as well.

Years ago, the Kodak Company was the largest manufacturer of camera film in the world. Suddenly, digital cameras became the rage. They don't need film. Kodak was never able to adjust; sadly and tragically they went out of business.

We exist to be trained and equipped through the love of Jesus so we can bring that life-transforming power to others.

It is a New Year and we are extremely excited about what God has done amongst us. We are passionate about what He has for us in 2021.
