Hebrews 2:5-18 - Because Jesus suffered when he was tempted, he is able to help those who are being tempted. Our help is in Jesus, and therefore we can have communion with him, not only in spiritually "good" times, but also walking through the valleys.

1 John 1:1-10 - The introduction to 1 John helps clarify between a mystical concept of communion with God, and an evangelical concept. There is no path of fellowship with God that does not begin at the cross.

1 Timothy 6:20-21 - The closing words of 1 Timothy charge us to guard the deposit of the truth of Scriptures, and gives Paul's blessing - may grace be over all the church does.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 - Having addressed the poor in 6:1-2, Paul now gives two exhortations to the rich: Worship God, not money, and Love People, not money.

1 Timothy 6:11-16 - Life is a Battle! We must fight with all our might. Paul gives us three exhortations and three encouragements in the battle.

1 Timothy 6:3-10 - The wonderful PROMISE of God in verse six is the "Godliness with Contentment is Great Gain." This passage tells us how to seek the reward of life in Christ, and how to avoid losing it through sinful discontentment.

1 Timothy 6:1-2 - Paul's teaching in these verses is practical and counter cultural. He teaches that our work, no matter how mundane, can be done as a witness to the truth, and offered as worship to God. But to do so, we must first dethrone it from its idolatrous place it often takes.

1 Timothy 5:17-25 - Paul gives us two exhortations relating to the Elders in the church. We are to honor them, and hold them accountable if they persist in sin. Only a truly gospel centered church can do both of these things well.

2 Peter 1:1-11 - This sermon focuses on verses 3-4 to show how maturing believers can have a rich, working knowledge of the promises of the Word. These 'great and precious promises' give us perspective, hope, and holiness.
