Isaiah 11:1-9 - Like a good present on Christmas morning, Jesus brings the joy of surprise (Isa 11:1), the joy of savoring (Isa 11:2-3), and the joy of dreaming (Isa 11:4-9).

Isaiah 9:1-7 - Though we live in a world of darkness, Isaiah foretells the coming of the Light in the birth of Jesus. He is the light that has come into the world, and the darkness has not overcome it.

Micah 5:1-5 - 700 years before the birth of Jesus, Micah foretold that the promised Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. And in so doing gives us four pictures of the character of Jesus.

Matthew 2:1-12 - The story of the Wise Men seeking Jesus teaches us three things, THAT Jesus is King, WHAT KIND of king he is, and why we should WORSHIP him as king.

Zechariah 9:9-10 - One of the most well known Old Testament prophecies of Jesus commands us to Rejoice! our king is coming to us!

1 Timothy 4:13 - 1 Timothy 4:13 gives three things that Timothy is to devote himself to: the public reading of Scripture, the exhortation, and the teaching. Which means church members must devote themselves to hearing the word, to obeying the word, and to understanding the word.

1 Timothy 4:11-16 - These verses give us three reasons to pursue holiness, and five areas of life to focus on.

1 Timothy 4:6-10 - Paul exhorts us to be trained IN the Scriptures, training FOR Godliness, and training BY hope in our Savior.

1 Timothy 4:1-5 - The church of God is a beautiful, glorious thing, but here on earth, she is also burdened by false teachers, false members, and false teachings, which trouble believers. However, this is how Jesus said it would be. Therefore, we must stay alert, and rest solely on the grace of Jesus.

1 Timothy 3:14-16 - These three verses provide the theological anchor that holds all of 1 Timothy in place. Why do we love the church? It is the household of God, and the bride of our wonderful savior Jesus Christ.
